Laying out our immediate product plans, direction for 2027, and the decision to move forward with a leaner team.

Hi everyone,

I’m Alessandro. I joined Airtable in September to lead product development following the Bending Spoons acquisition. Since then the team and I have spent most of our time listening to builders, admins, partners, and a great many of you here. The passion, expertise, and ingenuity of the Airtable community is unlike any other I’ve encountered, and it’s thanks to you that Airtable has become what it is.

Today we published a full update on what’s next, and I wanted to come and share the main points here too, starting with the hardest one. We’re parting ways with several members of the pre-acquisition team, many of whom will be leaving by the end of the week.

We believe a smaller, more agile team is the best way to deliver on the plans we have, but that doesn’t make this decision easier. A number of the people who will be leaving will be well known to you here, and many of the current and upcoming features exist because of them. We’re especially grateful to Grace and Maddie, who led the community here so well, running many events and programs which we’re honored to take forward.

What it means for you

Nothing changes in your plan, price, or service offering. Customer engagement and support teams are all staying. Our focus is on the long term and, to that end, we’re doubling down on product development and exceptional service. You already know about the 30+ updates and improvements we’ve recently shipped, and that’s only the start.

Here are the three key areas we’re investing in:

  • Core improvements, every month. A new Core team will work in parallel to ship heavy product improvements and your most-requested fixes, to optimize user experience and platform performance.
  • AI that works alongside your team. In the coming weeks, we’re releasing an upgraded Omni, Airtable Canvas, a more capable MCP, and other new features.
  • Centralized, account-level control. We’ll be introducing new, enterprise-grade features and settings to make sure account admins are in control of what people and agents can see and do.

As you can see, we have a lot of big plans, and this community is a key part of achieving them. This group is at the heart of Airtable, and I want to thank everyone for all you’ve contributed over the years.

We want to build this next phase together. So tell us what’s broken, what’s missing, what’s slowing you down—what we can build, change, or improve. Your feedback and requests will not only influence the Core team’s monthly priorities, but shape what Airtable will become.

I’ll be in this thread over the next few days answering what I can. You’ll also see my colleagues Isabella and Kyle here in the community asking questions and weighing in where we can be helpful. And of course, we’ll keep you up to date with everything we’re working on.

And if you’re at Airspace London on October 21, come say hello!
