Hey Community! February is here and we’re starting off the month with a round of feature enhancements to the Gantt app.


Milestones


Gantt now supports milestones, which represent a single point in time and only require an end date.

Hide weekends


You now have the ability to hide weekends from your Gantt chart. When this setting is enabled, record date ranges will be represented in workdays rather than “absolute” days.

Row height


We’ve added a new option for a short row height, allowing for greater information density when you’re viewing your chart.

Nested grouping


You can now add multiple record groups (similar to our grid view) where groups of records can be expanded and collapsed in the left hand sidebar.

In-app record creation


Creating new records within the Gantt app is now much faster with the ability to quickly fill in a label and date fields.

Great improvements! I hope your team keeps pushing improvements in the Gantt app. It is the key to unlocking the power of Airtable for project management and there is still so much that can be added!


I clicked on the link for information on how to adjust the row height, but I’m not seeing how to adjust the row height.

Regarding the row height option, could you see if a hard refresh of your cache will result in any change? From your Airtable tab, you can do a hard refresh by holding the ⌘ Cmd and ⇧ Shift keys and then pressing R. If on a Windows device, the shortcut to hard refresh a page is Ctrl + F5 .

The new features are fabulous. The lack of milestones was a real headache for me an now having the option of a view as well as an app makes Airtable an even stronger competitor in the project management space. Just love it!!!

Two comments / suggestions:



  1. I regularly create a number of days between start date and end date using the WORKDAYDIF() function. With a milestone because there is no start date you always get an error, which I cannot get rid of by creating an additional column where I normally use an IF() to get rid of any rubbish.

  2. In the “Task” column, it would be useful to have the ability to enable additional visibility e.g. start date, end date, duration
