We just launched a feature called attachment annotations that lets you leave comments in a specific position on an Airtable attachment. You can give fast, clear, actionable feedback on any type of visual asset to help speed up your creative process.

We currently support annotations on images (JPEGs, PNGs, and GIFs) and videos (MP4 and WebM). For more information on how to use this new feature, please see this support article for specifics and our blog post for a broader look at the asset review process.

And, we’d love your feedback! Leave any comments or feedback here in this topic.

Yes, please please add PDF annotation. It is one of the most common file types, and plenty of the assets that we create and review are those that we intend to print and make as PDFs. We just started using Airtable for asset review and it has been excellent until there was a screeching halt because I opened up the PDF attachment (which I could easily view like other file types) but could not annotate.

can attachments be marked up and annotated on the IOS platform?

Can u please explain how to implement this.

Our support article walks through the details of annotating images and videos. I’d suggest reading through the article and coming back here if you have any follow up questions.

Hope this helps!

I read through the article. My question is in regards to annotations and comments on an image On a MOBILE device.

I believe the article addresses computer uploads. Not if comments can be made when uploading using mobile devices.

Hi @Denise_Yuh , at the moment this feature is only available on web and desktop.

Is there any way to zoom on images? This feature is only partially useful if the image is small enough for the monitor aspect ratio. If we want to annotate things like webpage screenshots, app designs, infographics, etc, this is really not a feasible tool unless we can zoom and pan around the image like most other annotation tools.

It would be especially great if you can transfer the annotation into page designer for print outs.

And different types of annotations arrows and lines.

I would like to add my voice to those who have requested PDF annotations. (Currently, my web designers are having to convert an email proof to multiple JPGs for copywriters to annotate during editing.)

This is a great, intuitive tool - thank you! Can the functionality be extended slightly to save the annotations as new fields? For example, if I draw a box, I would love for that “cropped” portion to be saved as a new attachment (or record) with the associated comment also saved. Our application is for drawing bounding boxes and extracting labels. Thank you!

Hi concerning the annotation tool for web/ desktop. The annotation allows to comment on a single image, is there a feature/ function/ plugin where I would be able to annotate as a batch/ Album as well?

Ie: When we are viewing multiple image and there is a single adjustment needed for the entire samples (15+ images), we would like to address it as a global comment
