Working on an MVP with a vision to scale up to a business/enterprise level.

While Airtable’s fundamentals seem strong, the pricing/packages—along with some comments from long-time users—raise serious concerns (such as interaction quality and response speed from support).

I agree that the pricing for Portals is a major drawback; the upfront cost makes it unfeasible—$1,200 USD per year—without even the option to test it beforehand. It just destroys the commercial entry point even if the portal would be a reason for adoption or, a key selling reason. The overall price is a killer.

Hi,
I need to create a small client portal to manage my consulting projects. I never have more than five clients at a time, and so far, I haven’t found a better solution than the Airtable portal via Interfaces, which lets me filter clients data based on their login.

Unfortunately, I can’t justify paying $120 for 15 client access seats — it’s far too expensive and unnecessary for my use case. On top of that, using just 4 or 5 “real” users doesn’t allow for effective data filtering under the current model.

So what’s the point of requiring a 15-seat minimum fee? Your clients simply won’t subscribe, and they’ll look for other solutions — even less powerful or more complex — because this model doesn’t fit small-scale professional needs.
