What stood out most from the NYC Buildathon?

The builders. Full stop.

That disposable camera vibe 🤙

Last week in New York City, hundreds of Airtable builders came together — and it was honestly incredible to watch what happened when you put that many creative, systems-minded people in one room.

You could feel it immediately:

  • Tables of strangers turning into teammates… then into besties by the end of the day.
  • Builders swapping ideas, pressure-testing workflows, and helping each other push builds further.
  • People fully locked in — mapping, iterating, and showing in real time that there are no limits to what you can create with Airtable AI.

MVPs in the house!

⚡ Some moments we won’t forget:

  • A group pooling their AirCoins to buy chocolate bars from the swag store… just to hand them out to other attendees
  • WWE-style championship belts awarded to bounty winners (yes, they are as epic as they sound)
  • The Oprah moment when @kev asked everyone looked under their chairs for golden tickets
Bounty winners unite!

🏆 Huge congrats to all of our bounty winners — the level of creativity, craftsmanship, and real-world thinking was next level. Check out the bounty winner demos here, shout out to @matthewsk, @nas, @dnn31, @zfried, and Zach Nagin!

The $50,000 Grand Prize winner has been selected — congratulations to Zach Nagin who is now both a bounty winner and the Grand Prize champion!

Zach built a fully AI-powered creative agency workflow on Airtable — from brief intake to concept ideation to asset delivery to client feedback, all connected. What blew the judges away wasn't just the execution, it was the obsession with the problem. The feedback checklist, built from an AI agent analyzing each client's full history, was so compelling that Airtable's Base Optimization team is now adopting it.

Check out Zach’s reaction here!

👥 We’re also excited to keep this energy going:

We’ve launched the Buildathon User Group — a space for this community to stay connected, keep sharing, and keep building together. Hop into that group to share photo dumps, memories, and connect with the Builders you met at the event! (Who else is living for these disposable camera pics?)

We’d love to hear in the comments: what were your favorite moments?

Stay tuned for more soon! 🚀

The worst part of Buildathon was that it had to end 😭 🤣

But the BEST part was seeing and feeling the energy of builders both competing against and collaborating with each other at the same time.

Loved meeting everyone -- it was such a good vibe and an awesome event to have been a part of.
