Since the updates Airtable has implemented in the last week or so, I am having an issue when trying to run certain automations.

Mainly I notice this with my Generating PDF script automations (integrated with Documint).

I will set to Generate and the automation used to take 10-15 sec at most to generate the Documint PDF and paste into my attachment field, then update any other fields. We have several of these set up across bases that all operate without errors.

As you can see in the screenshot below, the automation is taking a long time to trigger and usually I see the below as ‘You edited this record in 2mins’ rather than ...min ago
I’ve also been having an issue with running the automation again and again on the same record - for testing and adjustments, and the automation not running at all.

In these cases automation history log will show (correctly) that it ran exactly the time I clicked the trigger, but the action doesn’t occur in the record or revision history.
Maybe this is something I need to log with support but i’m wondering if anyone else is having a similar issue? Or is it perhaps a timezone/timing issue since i’m in Aus ? Any solutions?

More info: Documint has also had some major updates in the last week and i’m having several separate issues with them at the moment. But more so design and formatting within the template. I’m not sure if the two are connected

Thank you - I have contacted Documint for a start since i’ve been having multiple other issues since their updates.
The simpler automations like updating records are working within seconds, even though that revision history is saying “in 3mins” rather than “few seconds ago” - note, this is not happening with my colleague who works from the same office.

But the script for generating documents are consistently throwing errors for all our users, so I’m starting with Documint first and then will advise Airtable support.

Airtable was having a temporary outage with scripts.

You may want to subscribe to Airtable’s Status Updates at the top of this page, where they will email you when there are outages.

They're not always on top of it — because it requires an Airtable employee to remember to manually update the status page and manually send out the emails — but they’re pretty good about it.

Hope this helps!

Hey @laurav04

For further context, below you’ll find a screenshot of the AT issue Scott is making reference to above.

The incident seems to be making reference to Errors rather than delays… not sure exactly if that includes delays as well I’ve been experiencing delays on my side as well :(

Did you make any significant changes in your base schema, formulas, or other scripts running simultaneously which might be affecting overall base performance?

Thanks very much - I have subscribed to the status updates - I’ve wanted to do this for a while, just wasn’t sure how.

I haven’t made any massive changes - the only other issues I’m having is within Documint, so i have a feeling I may need to redo my scripts for generating, as comparing has shown some differences between my original script and what my Documint template is providing now.

I am going to test everything again this morning and see what happens, fingers crossed!

Hi @laurav04,

FYI: When using DocuMint, one thing to note is that using a script is just one of the ways that you can generate a document.

There are other ways to generate a document that might be easier for you to maintain and troubleshoot:

  1. You can use a URL link in a formula field.
  2. You can use a button field or a button element.
  3. You can use Make’s DocuMint integrations.

Hope this helps!
