That’s a great question, because that has been a major missing feature (or bug) since the very beginning of automations in November 2020.
Be sure to email support@airtable.com to request that they add this capability.
In the meantime, there is a known workaround to this issue:
The other user will need to invite you into their workspace with “creator” access, and then you will need to duplicate the base into their workspace for them.

Thanks guys, yeah I already submitted the request using the form. Hopefully this is something that they care about as it would definitely help get more people into Airtable if we could start people off with a template that is actually ready to go and functional.
At the minute, it’s a big barrier to have to get people to build the automations themselves.
Yeah, it’s a really strange omission. Seems like an oversight.
Try using read-only invite links instead of public share links; any collaborators with read-only access to a base can duplicate the base into their own workspace and that copies over the automations as well
