Hi all,

Sadly, when tagging @yourself, you do not get an email notification from Airtable.

I was hoping to solve this with an automation. However, I am struggling to set up a trigger that can detect a comment, and further detect a comment where the user tags themselves.

Does anyone have any experience with setting up email notifications when a user tags themselves?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

@NoreG

I don’t think that is possible in Airtable, but you could create your own custom notification system for yourself, similar to what I described in this thread.

Hey @NoreG!

As an alternative, you could build a (1) Notes Log table, and a (ii) Users table, and have the Users table linked to the Notes table and the Notes table linked to applicable corresponding tables.

Under Users table, you’ll want to have each user with their specific information.
Under Notes table you can create a record for each note you want to have on your system.
Given that the Notes table is linked to the Users table, on the Users linked field you’ll include every user which should receive a notification/email/slack message.

You can “tag” yourself on such linked field.

When a notes record matches certain conditions, or when a notes record is created, an automation could be triggered to send corresponding notifications.

Please let me know if you’d like me to show you around!

Hope this helps.
