Hi, apologies if this is a duplicate – in my searching, I only found questions about a Gmail integration.

I’ve noticed that we’re having issues with automated emails being sent TO Gmail email addresses. The automation works in all other cases, but with Gmail addresses, we’re finding that recipients can’t find the email in spam/junk or promotions tabs.

Is there a known issue there, or does anyone have suggestions for what might be happening? Thank you!

in the automation history are those showing up as successfully sent? have you tried different content or hard coding those gmail emails in the automation and testing there to see if they are sent?

Hi, thanks for your response! I have not tried hard coding the Gmail emails because they are candidates in a recruitment process. The automation shows as successfully sent – we are only having issues with Gmail email addresses though.

But to clarify, since I realize I didn’t make this clear in the original post, these emails are autofilled in the send field on the email automation from form input. So confirming it is dynamic data.

ok got it! and to confirm the FROM is airtable email or FROM a gmail? Ive never seen that issue of gmail recipients not getting the emails, it may be a batching issue - e.g. if you are sending a lot of emails at the same time.

In terms of testing it might be helpful to duplicate the automation and hard code the dynamic inputs and test it sending it with some gmail addresses to see where the issue is

The FROM is a company email, so not Gmail or Airtable. Could be batching, but they would have been slightly staggered because they were triggered by form inputs done one at a time. But about 40 in the space of a few minutes. I’ll try a duplicate and see what happens.

Thanks!

Hm, wondering if it might be worth BCCing every mail to an Outlook email address to make sure they’re actually going out and that it’s a Gmail specific issue?

Thank you @TheTimeSavingCo – I do have confirmation that other recipients (non-Gmail) have successfully received the automated emails, so I know the automation is working in theory. Setting aside some time later today to run some tests :)

Have you sent emails to these people in the past? If so, is it possible that they clicked on the unsubscribe link that Airtable automatically adds to its automated emails?
