HERE IS A TRANSMITTAL - TO 3 PEOPLE -AND WITH 2 DOCS….MATRIX AT THE BOTTOM GIVES THE COMBINATIONS OF PERSON (EMAIL AND NAME) AND DOCUMENT (URL AND POSSIBLY ATTACHMENT)

WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO DO IS CLICK ON SOMETHING LIKE (INDIVIDUALLY) THE 2 X INDIVIDUAL ROWS FOR RECIPIENT…..SEND THAT PERSON AN EMAIL THAT CONTAINS EITHER OR BOTH, THE URL TO GET BACK TO THIS SCREEN (AND THEN WE HAVE TO PAY A LICENSE FOR THAT USER OF COURSE) SO THEY CAN UPDATE THEIR 2 ROWS IN MATRIX - OR - BETTER - SEND THE EMAIL WITH JUST THEIR TWO ROWS - WITH URL AND ATTACHMENT LINK - AND SOMEHOW A CHOICE OF APPROVE/REJECT/NOTED STATUS AGAINST EACH DOCUMENT THAT SOMEHOW COMES BACK TO THE MATRIX ROWS AND UPDATES THAT STATUS AGAINST THEIR NAME AND THE RIGHT DOCUMENT.- IS THAT POSSIBLE ? ANY BETTER IDEAS…..BEEN AROUND THE HOUSES WITH ZAPIER AND JUST COULD NOT MAKE HEADWAY SO AIRTABLE AUTOMATION MIGHT BE WAY TO GO (SOMEHOW).

THANKS - YOUR ADVICE IS INVALUABLE!

Hmm, yeah you could definitely click a button and send them an email with their two rows, try creating an automation that triggers when a checkbox is ticked, then use the ‘Send email’ action to send that person an email with the details you want

For the updating status bit, you could try using Fillout.com (https://www.fillout.com/), it’s a form software that lets people edit records in Airtable.  The free plan has 1000 submissions, so you should be fine, and the idea would be to send over a form link with the email which they’d open up and submit

You could also do this within Airtable itself with just a prefilled Airtable form + automations, but that’s more tedious to set up.  The plus side to that is that you’d have a log of when the submissions were made though which you don’t get with Fillout

As Adam mentioned above, you can use Fillout to update existing Airtable records using a form.

Fillout is 100% free, and you can check out my Airtable podcast here which shows you how to set it up:

Hope this helps!

As others have mentioned, Fillout is the best option if you want to update records.

But if, for some reason, you can’t use Fillout and plan to go with prefilled Airtable forms instead, you can refer to this article where I explain in detail how to set things up to update records using an Airtable form.

Hello @MikeMitch,

You can also try using Plumsail Forms to update records in Airtable. The logic remains the same: set up an automation in Zoho, Make, N8N; to send a direct form link via email.

Thanks ...will take a look.…
