Hi. Hope someone could help. I’ve automated a create tasks from a task template and it worked. Now how do i automated creating subtasks. I have subtask template table as well. That’s where I’m stuck on. Thanks!
Hmm, what if you had an automation that triggered whenever the Task record got created, and its action would be to look in the Subtask Template table to look for the Subtasks that are linked to the triggering Task type, and then a repeating group action to create one Subtask record for each found record?
If that doesn’t work could you provide screenshots of your tables please?

Could I also check that you’re familiar with Record Templates? https://support.airtable.com/docs/using-record-templates-in-airtable
Might be easier to use here if they work for you!

You’ll need to link your subtask template to the main task automation. After the task is created, trigger a follow-up automation that pulls rows from your subtask template table and generates subtasks under that new task.
Thanks for the response! But I emailed Airtable and they said i need a script to get this to work.
Hey
You def do not need a script for this!
In the video below I show how to create tasks out of template tasks. You can still use this workflow to achieve the same thing for subtasks.
Completely different matter, but would love to have you join our Airtable Hackathon! Make sure to sign up!!
