I'm trying to create 4 automations that update Field B when Field A matches the conditions [both are multi-select fields].

For example, if Field A has any of Clothing/Fashion, E-Commerce/Retail/Wholesale, Entertainment & Sports, Field B should be updated to Traditional Industries. If Field A has any of DEI, Education, Government/Regulation, Field B should be updated to Service-Oriented. And so on.

However, most records in my base fall into multiple categories, and Airtable is defaulting to the first automation listed. How can I adjust my automations to allow Field B to be updated with multiple options?

Perhaps you could try creating a formula field that'll output the Field B value and get your automation to paste the formula field's value into Field B instead?

for your specific question, in your automation you want to include the old value of field b and the new value. For example:

However, TimeSaving has a better approach which is use a formula to determine what the field should be then update it.  This will handle when Field A changes and it no longer qualifies as "retail oriented".

You may also want to move the options to another table, and use a linked record field with a lookup field. When you choose a value from the linked record field, the lookup field will pull in the value you want.
