Hello,

I'm experiencing a critical issue with my Airtable automation connected to Make that stopped working yesterday, and I urgently need assistance as this is putting a client contract at risk.

The Problem: My automation was functioning perfectly until yesterday. Now, when triggered from my Interface button, I'm receiving this error from Make:

The operation failed with an error.
Error: Validation failed for 1 parameter(s).
- Missing value of required parameter 'id'.

My Setup: I'm using a script in my Airtable automation that sends data to Make via webhook:

javascript

const { recordID } = input.config();
await fetch('https://hook.us2.make.com/2eto4rtkvo8js15rcg05e69ntn5vceqe', {
method: 'POST',
headers: { 'Content-Type': 'application/json' },
body: JSON.stringify({ rid: recordID })
});

The recordID input is mapped to "Airtable record ID" in the automation configuration.

What I've Checked:

  • I haven't changed anything in my automation, database, or Make scenario
  • The script configuration appears identical to when it was working
  • The button in my Interface is properly configured
  • The webhook URL hasn't changed

I’ve tested my Script in Airtable and its sending the right recordID,

Now it looks like it’s in Make I got the problem and i’m not sure why, it was always working, like for weeks!

Best regards

The Record ID that you’re sending to Make.com from your Airtable script is not the Record ID that you are referencing in module #5.

Your module #5 is setup to pull a Record ID from module #4’s “Linked Event” field, so you’ll need to first make sure that module #4 actually returned an Airtable record to you.

If module #4 actually did return an Airtable record to you, you’ll then need to make sure that the “Linked Event” field from module #4’s record actually had a linked event in it.

The error that you’re receiving from Make.com says that you’re missing the Record ID altogether, meaning that there is no value in the “Linked Event” field from module #4.

Hope this helps!

Here’s a quicker way of saying what I was trying to say above:

  1. Your module #5 isn’t pulling in the Record ID from your script in Airtable.
  2. Your module #5 is pulling in the Record ID from module #4’s “Linked Event” field.
  3. The error that you’re getting from Make.com is saying that your module #4’s “Linked Event” field is empty, so I would start your troubleshooting there.

Also, if you’re new to Make.com, I’ve created a short Loom video in this thread with some cool tips & tricks.

Hope this helps!

Hm looks like your automation’s triggering without all the data it needs to work, specifically the ‘Linked Event’ that’s related to your triggering record wasn’t populated

Try adding a guardrail to your automation that prevents it from firing unless that Linked Event’s populated.  Was this record created outside of the normal process or something?  Curious what happened here given that it’s been working for weeks!
