Forms response not populating into table

Hi all!

I’m having an issue of forms responses not populating into my data table after the form is submitted. This is a unique problem though, because what seems to be happening, is that when a response is submitted, by anyone, it pushes the last response through but doesn’t appear itself.

For example, a coworker submitted a test response last Friday. I received the confirmation email on Friday, but the response didn’t populate into the data table UNTIL I submitted my own test response. I immediately saw my coworkers response populate into the data table but not mine, even though I received the confirmation email for my response.

Has anyone encountered this before? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Brandon

You may want to check to see if you have any filters applied to your view or interface page, which may be preventing you from seeing all of your form submissions.

Thanks Scott for your quick response! Unless there are any hidden filters within Airtable that I don’t know about, I’m not showing any filters currently being used. Something has to be happening though because the bottom of my data table says “55 records” but I can only see 54 lines of data. I’m at a loss.

That’s very strange! I would definitely recommend opening a support ticket with support@airtable.com about that, and then post back here with whatever they tell you!

Hey @Bsuchan

This is probably a view caching issue - your form submissions are actually working correctly (hence the confirmation emails), but the table view isn't auto-refreshing to display the new records.

Immediate Troubleshooting Steps:

  • Hard refresh your browser: Press Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac) while viewing the table
  • Check if filters are hiding records: Temporarily remove all filters from your view to ensure nothing is being hidden
  • Verify the form is pointing to the correct table: Open the form settings and confirm it's submitting to the table you're viewing
  • Try a different browser or incognito mode: This rules out browser-specific caching issues

Airtable's interface sometimes doesn't automatically refresh views when new records are added via forms, especially if:

  • You have complex filters or sorts applied
  • The view has been open for an extended period
  • Browser caching is aggressive
  • You're on a slower internet connection

Good news: Your data isn't lost - it's just a display issue. Every submission is being recorded properly.

Interesting!  I just tried to replicate this with both the old and new forms and wasn’t able to replicate it

Does it still happen in the following scenarios?

  1. Duplicated copy of the form
  2. Create a brand new form

Any chance you could DM me an invite link to a duplicated copy of your base with no data in it?  Would love to poke at it!
