Hi all,

We currently use Airtable as an HR Management solution. It contains tables and data to store all sort of sensitive information regarding the employees.

This leads to a big problem: whoever has the right to build the Airtable app, sees data that he should not have access to.

I know that if we are talking about end users, it’s possible to mask specific information in the interfaces. But here I’m in front of a different requirement:

  • Somebody who has the right to design and build the solution should not have access to the underlying data, or at least to part of it

I believe there’s no way to achieve this? Anybody else is facing the same problem?

Hm yeah I don’t think that’s possible at this time.  An account able to design / build has to have Creator permissions, which will give them access to everything

Maybe you can put the sensitive data in another base and then only sync it over after the design / build is complete?  Not sure how feasible that is though given you’re probably going to be continuously adding functionality

@TheTimeSavingCo thanks, I figured that was the only option.

It’s a bit of a pity, I think this is one of the major show stoppers for Airtable to be used for doing so much more.
