Let me first preface these questions with I’m a vet tech not a computer programer/data person, and I’m only doing this for my hobby. I have these two PDF files that I would like to add to my air table to help me classify my model horse show string. I would like to put conditions on the drop down list so If I select one general breed or specific breed or class only a certain list comes up, Is this possible? What is the best way to do this? Thank you for your help- Sirena
As an experiment I tried to use ChatGPT to extract it and it worked pretty well for the first PDF and you can find it here (You can duplicate this base to your own workspace and use it there!). I checked on a couple and it seemed fine, but it’s still AI so I’d still recommend a line by line check

The second PDF was more challenging; the format of the PDF was a bit more inconsistent. I also did a few random checks and it seemed fine but I’d definitely recommend a line by line check for this one

Hey
Regarding: I would like to put conditions on the drop down list so If I select one general breed or specific breed or class only a certain list comes up, Is this possible?
The solution for this is to use linked records rather than single select fields.
Assuming I’m getting your use case right, you’d have one table for General Breed and one table for Specific Breed. You’d link this two tables, and you’d link which Specific Breeds correspond to which General Breeds.
Then you’d link your main table (whichever that is, e.g. Horses), to both tables as well.
Then you’d set a dynamic filter on your linked records so that you can only select a Specific Breed which is linked to the General Breed you already selected.
You can check Airtable’s support article on dynamic filters here.

Found an issue with the data where the sub headings weren’t getting picked up i.e. it was just doing ‘PONY BREEDS – European, Australian, African and Asian’ and missing the ‘European’, etc sub heading in there, just updated it so that it’s now ‘PONY BREEDS – European, Australian, African and Asian – European’
Also combined the data from the two PDFs into a single table called ‘Horses - Compiled PDF Data’ as well
Let me know if you see any other data issues and I’ll see what I can do!

Reading Mike’s post also made me realize I didn’t address the bit about data selection at all; I’ve added Mike’s solution to the base as well, so if it works for you please do mark his post as the solution!

It sort of worked- this is a link to my table I feel like I’m not quite doing things right to upload it correctly into this list. I appreciate any and all help provided. Thanks for being so awesome- Sirena
Hmm, are you facing any specific issues? Not too sure how to help, sorry!
Hey
If you provide further detail we might be able to help!
E.g. are not all breeds being created on your base?
