ISSUE
Want to see a list of records from Base 2 within Base 1 when looking at the linked record
Synced issues tab is appearing, but linked PROJECT is appearing as single line text no the linked field
Question #1: Would dual-sync solve my problem?
Question #2: Any other ideas?
I'm going to solve my own here. Hours spent working on a complex answer and found a simple one after writing this out simply.
In BASE 1 create another field in the synced Issues list called PROJECT COPY. Link it to the PROJECTS. Then create an automation copying the content of PROJECT from the Issues tab in Base 1 to PROJECT COPY.
