Hey everyone! I’m Kyle.

I’ve been building with Airtable for many years, creating internal tools, automations, and workflows - primarily for creative and post-production teams. I first discovered Airtable in college while studying film and media production, where I used it to manage the logistics for a senior media thesis film. Since then, I’ve been building with and advocating for it because it’s incredibly flexible, robust, and adaptable to just about any challenge you throw at it.

One of my favorite things about the Airtable community is how willing people are to share ideas, collaboratively ideate creative workflows, and help each other solve interesting problems.

We’re starting this Chicago Chapter because we thought it would be fun to bring together local builders and create a space where like-minded people can connect. Whether you’re just getting started, a seasoned consultant, or somewhere in between, you’re welcome here.

My hope is that this becomes a place to share projects, ask questions, celebrate wins, and eventually get together for meetups, co-working sessions, workshops, and whatever else the community is excited about. Your feedback will help shape what this chapter becomes!

    Hi 👋, I’m Andres.

     

    I currently reside in the Ukrainian Village neighborhood and have been in Chicago for a bit over 6 years now. I currently work as a contractor with a couple of Airtable gold partners and am building/managing projects for business and university clients. I’ve been using Airtable for over a decade and first got into it when I was trying to build a membership management solution for a non-profit I was involved in. That sent me down the software development rabbit hole and I taught myself to code and use Airtable as the backend (before there were interfaces). The coolest thing I’ve built so far is probably the complete replacement of an ERP for a jewelry manufacturer (a system and industry that was way more complex than I had initially expected) which allows my client to manage all of their products, inventory, and sales from a single base.

      Hi All, 

      My name is Sara. I am from the NW burbs of Chicago. I just started using Air Table a couple of months ago after starting at a new company where it is used mainly for data retention. I am trying to learn new ways for our company to use Air Table such as automations, succinct views, etc. I am interested to learn what others find the best use for Air Table at their companies. 

      I have been proud to learn how to create formulas for certain columns in AirTable to reflect current statuses and escalations of tasks.

        Hi All,

        I’m Judson. I live in the NW suburbs. My teams have been building in Airtable for about a year. We built a portfolio and project management suite for an R&D department within a large medical device ‘laboratory’ that is headquartered here in Chicago. We are all learning quick but have a few Airtable superstars within the team that carry a lot of the load. I am excited to hear about all the cool stuff being built in the community.

          Hello,

           

          Jon Carlisle.  I’m an AI Director at DLA Piper, leading a team of engineers and data scientists within the delivery team of the AI Innovation group.  We use Airtable to build out POCs and to quickly build custom solutions across the firm.  I learned about Airtable at DLA Piper and fell in love with it after the AI field agents were introduced.  I’m interested in learning how to build custom interfaces as this is the weak spot for me; the out of the box interfaces remind me of Microsoft Access.  😄
