Hi there - When I am testing my script, it is popping up and asking which record do I want to test.
Will this always be the case or how can I have the variable passed from step 1 in the automation which is the record which is updated?

When testing an automation it will ask for a record. If you are passing passing the recordID from Step 1, then the automation will just take that ID and perform the automation without asking you which record.
