I have a few collaborators that have editor access, but keep getting an error message stating “You are not permitted to perform this operation” when trying to submit a form that creates a record. They can update records without any issue, but I can’t seem to get it so they can create new records.

This is through a form in an interface, but I can’t find anything that would prevent them from submitting the form. There are no restrictions within the form itself that I see. I’ve checked that they have Editor access to the specific interface, there is nothing on the interface page with the form that would allow me to make any restrictions, and I’ve confirmed the table where the record is being create allows for collaborators with editor access to create new records.

I then created it as a separate form, not within the interface and the only way we could get it to work was to open the access to anyone, which we don’t want.

Can someone point me to what I’m missing or should be doing differently? I have several other forms that are submitted by collaborators & guests from within other interfaces that work just fine, so I’m not sure what the issue is with this one or what I’m missing.

Hmm… that’s weird. That definitely shouldn’t be happening. You said that you rebuilt that form as an external form, and that one works okay but you don’t want it to be externally accessible. Did you try rebuilding it from scratch as a another interface form? What happens if you rebuild it from scratch as another interface form?

That’s my next step Scott, was hoping it was just something simple I was missing. I’ll let you know if that fixes the issue.

Hm, if you could DM me an invite to a duplicated copy of your base with no data in it I’d love to poke at it to see what I can figure out!
