Hi everyone,

I’ve searched the community but only found some older threads on this topic, so I wanted to bring it up again. Are there tricks/workarounds that do not including setting up rules within mail-inboxes to just delete the notifications?

Right now, I can follow or unfollow comment threads manually, but it’s tedious to manage this every time. I’d really love the option to set a default notification preference—specifically, to only be notified when I’m mentioned.

Having a global setting like “Notify only when mentioned” would make the interface much more manageable, especially in bases with a lot of activity.

Hey I don’t think that is possible (TBH I do not rely too much on native comments feature nor notifications). -I usually build comments and interactions as a different table which allows me to track more granular data and trigger automations if “comments” meet certain specific conditions. (if you’d like to discuss this alternative, I’d be happy to show you around. Feel free to schedule a call using this link)

If I am right, meaning that is not possible, you might want to submit this as a feature request using this form as it will be helpful for many other users for sure.

Hi Mike,

yes I could do that, but comments have a dedicated place in the interface and don't seem to be that well-thought-out at the moment. Building alternative solutions is possible but more like a wonky workaround.

Guess I’ll have to wait for the improvement of comments and in the meantime be annoyed by >30 notification mails everyday while I try to turn of the “follow” functionality in every record I commented on. 🤣
