Get graphs to sort by number, or just in a desired way

As we can see in this graph Airtable Interface is not interpreting the numbers in an ascending order. It seems to only look at the first digit. I've tried to fix this issue in many different ways, but no luck.

I need the graph to start in September and end in August (our FY)

This is because it is a text field, so it's sorted alphabetically.

You can:

1) Convert it into a single select, and then in Edit Field to specify the order:

 

And now the chart looks like this:

2) Use a number field instead

3) Create a formula field, eg. Month Number that extracts the number from the month text; and use that for the Group By.
