This is an Opt-in / Reference Check form:

https://airtable.com/appDms8x0QIhxU2F5/pagg3esZJjn6ytUSK/form

For some reason, its no longer clickable.. you can’t type on any field. I already made a dupe and its still the same. I tried to revert to yesterday’s version and the old form worked. But Im trying to find out the difference on the settings and visibility, there’s no difference. Im just confused..

another problem is that we sent out this form to plenty of people already that doesnt work..

Can anyone help me please?

Wow, that is very strange!

It seems like there is some sort of a bug happening with your forms, because as far as I know, there is no way for a user to lock an Airtable form like that.

I would definitely report that as a bug to support@airtable.com, and hopefully they will be able to fix it for you!

In the meantime, you may want to quickly rebuild your form in Fillout’s advanced forms for Airtable, which is 100% free and offers hundreds of features that Airtable’s native forms don’t offer, including the ability to automatically generate PDF files based on form submissions, and the ability for people to update records using a form.

Hope this helps!

Oh wait, I figured out the problem.

For some odd reason, Airtable allows you to set groups on your form to be READ-ONLY instead of EDITABLE!

This doesn’t make much sense to me, because there would never be a need to have empty, READ-ONLY fields on a form. (EDIT: I thought of a reason… see my post below.)

So you will need to select the entire group — it’s kind of tricky to select the entire group that contains your fields, but you will hopefully be able to figure out how to select the entire group of fields.

After you select the entire group of fields, then you can change the entire group to become “editable” instead of “read-only”.

Hope this helps!

I can actually think of only 2 reasons that Airtable would have added this feature to groups on forms:

#1. Perhaps you want to visually display the default values for some form fields, but you don’t want the user to be able to edit those default values.

#2. Perhaps Airtable is getting ready to introduce Fillout’s ability to update records from a form?

Hmmm…. very interesting….
