Pretty straightforward: let us use the filterable grid element to pick a single row and then act on that record as with the drop-down picker.
That this isn’t available feels very strange, creating streamlined and constrained versions of a regular tabular DB interface for is a natural use case for Interface Designer; there needs to be some kind of records browser & selector element.
