Long text fields, in particular, need to be adjustable in terms of height in pixels or line height. It’s very claustrophobic to write long text in a field that only allows you to display 3 lines of text. Also, I already have that constraint in the default record detail view.

I’m really hoping that this is a bug. Be sure to report this by sending an email to support@airtable.com.

In Interface Designer, long text fields auto-expand to fit their contents. The default starting height is about three lines, but if you type more than three lines, it will get taller.

Yay! This is awesome.

From another perspective resizing to any size can bring its own problems, pushing other elements below them down and potentially off screen.

True. The ideal implementation of this would be for us to choose our own size, and then have a scrollbar appear if the text exceeds the size that we choose.
