Hello Community,

since this morning our teammembers, who only have access to our interfaces, are not able to run Airtable automations through buttons anymore. The buttons are greyed out and they get a warning saying "Not connected to an automation".

However, when logged in through our administrator account (with full data access) the buttons and Airtable automations work as intended.

We did not make any changes to the interface, database structure or fields, automations, or the users permissions and capabilities. No changes to anything recently. Overnight things just stopped working.

Yesterday everything was working fine, today no automation can be triggered through a button unless it is the administrator account with full access to the data.

What happened? What could that be?

We need URGENT help here. 🙄

Same problem here… My users without full access to the base can’t use buttons that trigger automations.
It was working last week...

Hey @TableAirEnjoyer!

1. Please make sure to reach out to Airtable’s support as this seems to be an important bug.  Use: support@airtable.com

2. Please feel free to reach out if you think I can help you in any way (we could go through each automation together).

Here is the answer I got from airtable :

Hi there,

We’re currently investigating an issue where buttons in interfaces configured to run automations are showing the message “not connected to an automation” for some users.

This appears to impact users with Interface-only access, even when the buttons are correctly set up and automations are published. Our engineering team is actively looking into the cause.

As a temporary workaround, affected users can be granted editor-level access to the base. Please note that this will expose the full base data, so we recommend applying this with caution based on your data security requirements.

We'd recommend monitoring our Status Page for any news, though we'll also keep you posted here in-thread as soon as there is an update. Thank you for your patience.
