I’m using a 2 level hierarchy. I added color based on a condition but its acting on the child records, not the parent records. Is there any way to do this?

+6+6Yes! Airtable’s conditional coloring works at the record level, so it applies to child records, not parents. To color parent records based on child conditions, you can use a Rollup field to pull key values from the child records, then apply conditional coloring to the parent based on that rollup.

I understand rollup field but not sure how they work in this situation. The parent document already contains the data (which is a date field) that I want to base the condition on. How does that differ from rolling up data from the child?
