Can we nest / organize the posts on the community forum (with expand/collapse buttons) something like this: There are posts that I noticed which are duplicates or closely related. And I think it would be helpful if they showed up in a grouped fashion under each related post. (thereby helping users NOT repost, or find the topic which has the most views/comments and post in the more active or appropriate location) Just thought this would be helpful to both the development team and users. For instance, I have noticed many posts (3) related to “persistent sorting”. The grouping criteria could maybe be something like cross links (which Airtable already tracks), or the “suggested topics” (yes, already available, but not in this fashion).

I’ve been evaluating Airtable as well as Fieldbook. There’s a lot to like about Airtable - particularly the iOS apps, the ease of use, and the multiuser flexibility. There’s one Fieldbook feature that I’m really impressed by, though: in addition to sorting and filtering, you can also make views that group by a particular field. For example, if I have a table of articles that I’m tracking for a website launch, I can look at a filtered view of that table grouped by the value of some field. This is, I suppose, functionally the same as sorting by the value, but it’s a much more useful view of the data: Any chance that grouping will be coming to Airtable anytime soon?

I’d like to be able to assign any given field to be displayed as the title on a calendar view. For example, I have a table of team practices with dates and descriptions. I’d like a calendar view that would display the description on the calendar on the corresponding date.

Forms are great for entering data in a single row, but it would be great to have an option on creating a form that would reload a blank version of the form after it is submitted so that multiple rows of data could be entered via a nice UI.

I have a base that I would like to share with collaborators but have some tables with proprietary information. Could tables be tagged with Creator only?

Hey all, I would love an option to allow certain rollups to take into account filters and views. My use case is the following: I have a budgeting base where I add transactions to a table. In a different table, I show the sum of these transactions per budget category. The catch is that since the budget is monthly, I only want to see transactions for the current month. The current approach for this outlined on this help article is to add another column to the transactions table that shows a conditional amount. That’s fine and well but the problem lies when I want to view transactions / budgets for a different period. Whether it be for a different month or for a random period. I then have to go mess around in the conditional formula which seems very hacky to me. In addition to that, the filtering tools are wonderful and it sucks that I can’t leverage t

Currently Ctrl+F is not selecting previous searched term, so when we paste intended values to check for duplicates, it won’t show up. It appends with previous searched term… I think it isn’t user friendly… especially when in a hurry Hope someone can address this… Thanks & Regards, Gokul

I would like to be able to select a single row, or perhaps multiple and share those with a specific person/persons. Use case: I have a table where I’ve listed all my clients. When I send them a form to fill out, their response appears at the bottom of the table but I’d like it to fill in over where I’ve listed the client already. Essentially, locking the row where edits are made there and not in a separate row. This also ties into another request I submitted around allowing users to send partially filled out forms for another contributor to fill in the rest, instead of sending them a whole form, which is blank and doesn’t show the information I’ve already entered in.

I would like to be able to fill out a form with all the information I know, but if I ask someone else to help me, I don’t have to send them the blank form but it would show my answers or only send the ones that don’t have something entered. Use case: I’ve created a client profile and I may know the basics of the main contact, website, etc. but I like to have the client fill out portions related to goals, satisfactions, interest in other products, etc.

I’d like to be able to enter a date range into a single cell. Like creating an event. Use case: I work in EdTech and indicating when my client’s schools are out for spring break, summer, personal vacation would be helpful. Indicating length of events, seminars, professional development, conferences, etc.

As of now on submitting form it shows thank you message. We have to manually refresh again for next entry. It would be cool if there’s save & proceed to next entry button.

Right now there is a lot of blank space on the main page where you view your teams and bases. Since it’s entirely vertical there is a ton of dead space on the left and right, but almost as much between each team. Right now it looks like this (red zones are just dead space): I would love to see this decreased so more is visible. I have half a dozen teams and even on a 27" monitor I can only see 3 at a time. Decreasing this space would be great, but even better would be allowing two teams side by side (like a grid) so the dead space is utilized and you can see more of your teams at once. Below would be much easier to scroll through: Just a suggestion. :slightly_smiling_face:

Android is still in Beta, but it is working quite well already. Wonder when will it be taken off beta and make it a full app with all the features.

From Windows, I can view data with a nicely displayed table view. On Android and Ipad, I cannot view all the fields as a table. I can click on the database item and view it as a card. it will be really nice to have a choice of table or card view, in the card view, I can flip the cards by flicking it. Much appreciation

It would be great if you could make a view within a base (additional to grid/form/calendar) that showed a line-by-line feed of changes in the base (edits, additions and deletions). e.g. 10:01.32 JK Rowling edited (Name Field). (Field 5)'s value was ‘x’. Now it is ‘y’. 10:07:46 Stephen King added a new row (Name Field). 10:12:11 John Grisham deleted the row (Name Field)

I’d very much like to be able to print individual records for my employees that do not include all of my hidden fields (for example, I have many hidden fields that are base dates intended to make calculations). When I print a record, I’d like to be able to hide the superfluous fields.

It would be great to be able to filter on records where the value in the field was changed. Since you keep the information if the record history, it would be great to leverage this information in another way. For example, I could have a used Toyota Prius priced at $9,999, and linked to this record I might have 3 leads. At the end of the week I drop the price on a bunch of stock. The Prius could be $9,399 as a result. If I could filter on the the price field with an option like '(Was changed within) | (the last 14 days)", my salespeople could then have a view of cars with reduced prices. They could then reach out to those old leads and try again with the new price point.

Hi, I have recently discovered that when I copy and paste records from Airtable into Apple Numbers spreadsheets, or Quip spreadsheets, those spreadsheets interpret the “return” character as a new record, while Excel correctly interprets this character as a new line of text within the same record. Is this something I would need to address with those respective companies, or is there something Airtable can do to make the copy and paste results more universal in all spreadsheet programs?

The scroll bars on pretty much all views of the web app are very skinny, but especially the ones used in expanded view which are even narrower (1/8") than the ones used on the main view. This slows down productivity as it requires precision mouse movement and it would be great to have a little bit more width on these scroll bars (say 1/4"). It would take away a small amount of real estate from the rest of the content but provide a nice boost in productivity by requiring a lot less mouse precision. Thanks.

The problem: the people on my team who do data entry are confused about which fields they should enter data on. For example I made one column for the sole purpose of counting the entries on a separate table. The column uses an IF formula to find if another column has “Paid in Full” selected. While training a coworker she pointed to the column and was confused - why did she have to add duplicate data? It would be awesome if the column hinted that it was “computer generated” at just a glance. Here’s my suggestion: Airtable should use a different font for data that’s produced by a formula or otherwise can’t be changed directly. I suggest a monospaced font that looks “computery”. When something changes that makes a formula-powered filed change don’t just update it instantly. Use the yellow fade technique to clue the user that something has changed

I’d love to be able to defer active filtering (e.g. until after field entry). Right now data entry can mess up the workflow because the view gets a refresh during editing of a field that is part of the filter (when the filter kicks in). The rows move up but the ‘old’ filtered row is placed on top of the new selection / top row. The result is there’s no way for the user to quickly update the view. Without the filter users can simply edit the field and jump to the next row using the enter key.

We would like there to be an option within a group to automatically sort all bases alphabetically. We use the icons that have the first two letters for our bases and it would be great if we didn’t have to manually sort these.

I update some fields dynamically using the API. I would like those fields to be uneditable or locked except via the API. For example, I manage a base called Trips. One of the fields is called “participant count”. Using a cron-driven script, I update that field regularly via the API. I would prefer that no other users could then modify that field.
