Just for the record, this errant behavior doesn’t exist on the Mac.
it moves a few lines horizontally, a few vertically. Windows 10 on Chrome
This still seems to be a valid issue. Was able to reproduce on Windows 10 / Chrome Version 81.0.4044.138 (Official Build) (64-bit).
I was wondering if there’s something wrong with because I’ve had the same issue since day 1 of using Airtable. please please fix this bug
I’m seeing the same issue on Windows 10, Shift + Scroll used to move horizontally ok but then moved a few rows up or down at the end of the scroll, but now Shift + Scroll seems to act in the same way as just Scroll, so Shift doesn’t seem to be having any effect on scrolling at all. This is most definitely an Airtable issue, can’t replicate on any other applications
Such a basic functionality. Not sure why they can’t fix it.
Old thread so I am hoping there is a fix for this.
I have the same issue on Chrome Windows. Shift+Scroll does nothing Wheel tile moves about 20 pixels at a time.
Any movement on this, Airtable team? Confirming that in Windows 10, both in chrome and the desktop app, horizontal scrolling does not work (or a few pixels at best). Would love to see a useful update from the team! Thanks.
Still a problem on Windows 10

same issue for me, Windows 10 desktop app and Chrome. shift doesn’t change the scroll at all, just scrolls up and down. i want sideways scroll!
Still doesn’t work on web or application… (Chrome & Windows)
Hello, I’m just checking in. I see this is a pretty old thread, but still no fix. Are there any plans to have this issue resolved anytime soon? I’m sure this seems like a “small” issue, however, it’s extremely frustrating to not have this feature when navigating a horizontally lengthy spreadsheet. And it was something I noticed almost immediately - as it’s a function that I use on most platforms (not just spreadsheets). Looking forward to an update regarding this issue. Thanks!
Posted this on another thread about this same issue.
Also, for whatever reason the mouse will keep snapped to the horizontal scroll bar when I’m trying to manually move it. That’s annoying too. Please fix asap please! Or at least respond to this forum again with several of us highlighting something that’s been an issue for a while.
Thank you!
Hey team, could we have this available on windows please? This is a huge counterproductivity feature…
Hey Everyone! If you’re anything like me, I know this is driving you insane! Especially the fact that they haven’t even bothered to respond to any of their users. I couldn’t take it anymore… That’s bad business for me. I found another platform that has WAY more flexibility and functionality (oh and the horizontal scroll is EVERYTHING!) - you can literally build anything. It’s called Notion - it’s a learning curve, but SO worth it in every way. I hope that helps someone. (Curious to know how long this message will stay… if it disappears, we’ll know this issues are monitored but ignored  ) Peace and Blessings!

I already use Notion and have still found Airtable to be superior in some ways. But I agree with you, if Airtable choose to ignore basic sh*t like this, it’s starting to look more attractive to move. Bye Airtable!!
I have used Notion, CLickUp, Monday and Airtable and honestly, ignoring such basic corrections that allow the application to function in alignment with BASIC digital behavior is a baaad signal (c’mon, shift+scroll is like the international way to scroll horizontally).

Hey folks at Airtable,
Any reason why this topic isn’t being addressed?
Being heard is a huge first step.
Thank you

Well, here we are again 2 weeks later…

Is it my impression or the interface was revamped but the bug persists?
This should be fixed now. If horizontal scroll is still not working for you in grid view after refreshing your browser tab, please let us know what operating system, browser, and type of view you are trying to scroll in.

Accidentally used shift to scroll horizontally today and had to sit there for a second wondering what the heck had just happened. This is huge, thanks for the update! Don’t be afraid to publish this fix in the announcements forum or along with one of the usual product updates; I’ll bet a lot of people out there are like me and still instinctively grabbing the scroll bar without knowing it’s fixed.
I just realized that the horizontal scroll is now working. Geez, it was such a relief. lol thanks, guys
