I have a product suggestion based on a problem where I have a table with lots of start date and end date columns for different steps of a project (fully described in this initial post: Visualising Multiple Dates in Timeline View).Currently with timeline and gantt it’s impossible to select these multiple dates (which you can do with calendar views) and so you have to create a hack to automatically update a new table that has 1 row per stage of the project. The hack ‘works’ but is really awkward both in terms of having to update the hack when adding new columns and also just a bad experience for users who need to jump in and out of different tables just to get to a timeline view.I don’t really see why the timeline view couldn’t take multiple dates like the calendar view does, and if it’s possible in my opinion it would make running complex projects in Airtable much more practical.

Hello. I 've noticed the addition of new button-style shortcuts.Each time you press New Form, or New Grid…it creates a NEW base. this is so confusing and extremely waste of precious space.Why someone who can easily add a new base, to have these buttons on the top, which do something very very very specific.If anyone has found usability on this layout, please share with us

Hey there. We would like to build a survey for clients that would work the same as a SurveyMonkey survey, but built straight from our Clients table so we don’t have to import data between apps. Is there any way to create a Matrix/rating scale in Airtable? The question we can ask very easily in Survey Monkey asks students’ availability via a matrix of Days of the Week and Time. Any way to do this in airtable? :slightly_smiling_face:

In scripting block, when calling input.textAsync("Your Name") it would be convenient to have an optional second argument to provide a default value in the text field: input.textAsync("Your Name", "Jane Doe")

Random suggestion: Global Option SetsWe have many different projects running within our nonprofit. We need to keep them separate, as each project has it’s own data needs.However, there are two drop-downs that are used regularly; Country of Origin and Mother Tongue.It would be super useful to have some kind of global option set for common lists such as these, to minimise having to type these in each time.I know a table/base with them all in, then syncing/linking would be an alternative. But always looking to minimise and streamline tables/bases!Don’t know if there are some single/multiple-select lists such as these that are frequently made across the Airtable world…

Would be super helpful to have different ‘Views’ available for the same Base. I want to add more and more different tables to a Base, so i can have all the data linked together, but I never need to see access to ALL Tables ALL the time. With a lot of Tables, it gets confusing, time consuming and hard to use the tiny little slider up to to scroll through heaps of tables. Just how having views for different Tables allows the same data to act as two or more different Tables, i think the same would be true for Base Views. I find myself wanting to Create whole new Bases to limit the amount of Tables i have to scroll through, but loose the ability to link data. At the moment i just organise to either the Left or Right, or Middle, but that is clunky.

This is my first post…sorry.I’m using an interface to display relevant information from a table. The user can add records to the table using editable field elements. However the list of records that appears is very large and it’s difficult to easily find what you want. In this example the record is information relating to a machine, the machine has subassemblies. The user needs to log some information regarding a specific subassembly of a machine but the field element lists all subassemblies of all machines.An improvement would be to only list the subassemblies for the specific machine the information is being logged to.The field element could have a filter that can be chosen based on a record from another field. This way when the user presses on the field element they are presented only with records that match a filter that was determined by another field that is already set.Hope that makes sense and somebody can advise?Thanks

Is there a way to add some kind of Captcha to forms which we publish to prevent bots from filling up our database with junk records? Even a validation feature. For example “What is 2 + 2?” and then being able to validate the value is 4. Thanks. Clint.

I’d really love the ability to copy and paste text and emojis (externally) into an Airtable form. I currently copy and paste a lot of Slack messaging into Airtable forms and the formatting doesn’t carry through. By what I’ve researched, it appears Slack uses Markdown so that’s why it may not translate??Wondering if there’s a workaround or if that can also be incorporated into Airtable’s functionality (receive HTML or Markup info and retain formatting)

The same way you have done the “Field & table editing permissions”, It would be really usefull to add the viewing permission.Example :In my Budgetting Base ; I want all users to see and add their record in the “Expenses table” but I don’t want all of them to see the “Income table”In my HR Base in Hirering Candidate Table ; I want all my managers to see all informations such as the CV, refeence letter, introduction message and modify good points , bad points, comments… but I don’t want them to see the “proposed salary” and “personal phone number”

Hey everyone.When you have a large set of records, grid view with grouping / filtering / sorting is a great way to create reports and surface meaningful insights.The problem for me, is when I have to turn this view into a PDF document that looks professional.A- Page designer, is great for adding headers, logos etc but it doesn’t support embedding a grid view with grouped records etc… and it only works with single pages.B- On the other hand, printing the grid view creates a very raw layout without headers or titles…I would love to see a report designer block with the ability to customize logos, headers but also border styles and fonts for a grid viewHope I’m not the only one wishing for this one…

I love that we can configure a view with filters, groups, sorted, etc.However, I think it would be handier to have these configurations be able to be set! Many users use the same view and start changing/adding filters to find the info they need on any given table. I’d like the ability to reset the view to a specific configuration with just a click of a button. I’m not sure if this is already possible.

There’s a bug in the Mac version of the desktop app where if you are dragging a scrollbar (horizontal or vertical) and the cursor moves outside of the app window, the scrolling stops. Then, when the cursor hovers back over the app, the scrolling continues, even if the mouse button is not down. It’s a jarring experience. Here is how to recreate: Desktop app is open and in focus the entire time. It’s helpful to decrease the size of the window so it is not full width/height of the screen. Click and hold scrollbar to drag. While you’re dragging, move the cursor outside of the boundaries of the app window. Scrolling should stop. Release mouse button. Move cursor back into the boundaries of the app window. Scrolling will continue based on mouse y-coordinates. You have to click anywhere to stop the scrolling. Compare to other apps (e.g.: Chrome) to see how this behavior is broken. I’m not using Apple’s mouse so don’t have touch or horizontal scrolling built-in. So clicking and dragging is t

I would love to be able to star or pin records, causing them to take the #1 place in a table, regardless of whether or not sorting is active. Often times I will sort things alphabetically for ease-of-access in finding desired records, though there may be a handful of records I want easier access to without creating a separate view for them. So being able to star or pin records that stay at the top (in the order in which they were pinned) no matter what sorting occurs, would be awesome.

In our CRM, we have a COMPANY Table and a CONTACT Table (among others). Within each of these tables, we have a CLIENT view and SUPPLIER view. PROBLEM: EXPANDED RECORDS That said, when I expand a record in the Contact Table > Supplier View, I’m inundated with irrelevant Client-Contact-specific fields (ex. ‘Won Projects’) haphazardly stacked at the bottom of the record. It’s become very confusing and bulky for our staff and, in my opinion, it’s probably a big reason so many of us wish we could ‘link bases’; but I won’t dive into that. PROBLEM: EXPANDED LINKED RECORDS Likewise, when I’m in the Company Table > Client View, and I want to access Contact Info for one of our Client companies, I’ll simply click to expand one of the linked records (linked from the Contact Table). In this case, I’m still inundated with Supplier-contact-specific fields, lumped together at the bottom. Ultimately, we need these gone! Hi there,It would be great if there’s a way to sync the date selections for filter elements or have one filter element that selects date filters for multiple data sources.I’m building a reporting interface where I want to allow my users to select dates to view records for. The reporting elements are scattered across a few different tables, and reporting on different data, so I’ve had to create 4-5 different date picker filter elements to accommodate. It would be nice if the filters selections on dates can be universal, similar to Google Data Studio’s “date range” selector.

Hey Airtable, Unbelievable app you have here. We’re doing extraordinary things with it. I hope this is requested by others, but what we would LOVE to see in the near future is some sort of simple “Today Planner” planner that we can use to drill down into the calendar hour by hour. This would add a next level to our scheduling with your app. Please let me know if this is something you have already planned (or if it exists, I just can’t find the button for it) or if its a pipe dream. Product Suggestion: Add Dark mode for Desktop, Web, and mobile apps.

I find text fields on Airtable jarring - sometimes it’s markdown, sometimes html, sometimes both, sometimes neither.My suggestion is to allow markdown in the help text field on forms. Being able to add hyperlinks and format text would go a long way to helping me help those who are filling out the form.
