It would be a big help if could update your Zapier Zap to support line items. It allows Zapier to do something with ALL found records, not just the first found record. For Each. Hi! I’m a new user to Airtable. I absolutely love the usability and UI of the app. However, I cannot seem to find quick way to create nesting or sub-tasks.I wish you could create a way for tasks to be nested under each other and ordered. For example, my primary field is “Task Name,” and my Task Name is “Follow Up with all Current Customers by end of 2018,” is there seems to be no way to create a Sub Task called “Create Follow Up List” and then other sub tasks called “September Follow Up,” “October Follow Up” that are specifically linked to the main task of “Follow Up with All Current Customers.”We currently use Smartsheet at my company which I find clunky and difficult to use, however it is fairly easy to create nesting and sub tasks with it.

I am the manager of the Makerspace at a University. We run our space/machine reservation system on Airtable and Integromat. The users fill out a Form view to register as a user first. Then they do another form anytime they want to reserve something. Part of the problem is that when they go to select who they are in the reservation form, they have access to everyone else’s name as well. This is security issue as well as a nuisance for us on the back-end.My question is would it be possible to create conditional fields only within a Form view? For instance, if the user selects their name from the list, they must also put their password into a “Password” type field that they set when they register as a user. If it matches what’s in the record , then the form is accepted. It would work almost like a modified Lookup field combined with conditions.This would allow us to securely have hundreds of “users” without them needing to have an Airtable account or real

I would like the ability to perform a “natural sort” that ignores leading articles (a, an, the). (I would like grouping to use the same logic.) The use case is that I have a database of books, and I would like “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn”, for example, to appear in the A’s rather than the T’s. In Google Sheets I achieve this by creating a dedicated sort column with a function: REGEXREPLACE($B2, "^(A|An|The) ", "").

When editing a record in the popup window, and reaching a field defined as a linked field, there is only one option - “Link to record from X table” But, often, a new record must be added to Table X to link it to the current record. In that case, we need to click twice - “Link to record…” and then “add new record” in the second popup: Because of the high frequency with which new records are added like this procedure, we suggest saving the popup and adding another button to the edit window. So when filling linked field will be to options that the user see: "Link to record… " “Add new record…” What do you think? For us, it will be nice improvements - fewer clicks and a better user experience. Thanks!

In December 2020, Airtable made a very detrimental change to the “View” hover menu, which is causing a significant amount of frustration for myself and my clients. I’ve created a video explaining the problem here:

I’d like to hide the secrets (authentications data etc.) for my scripts from the user frontend.Therefore I suggest to add “Secrets” (like Github) that can be edited by Admins only and are available through input.config.secrets.

I should be able to: sort elements manually in my kanban view, and have that ordering accessible as data.For example: If I have 20 items in my TODO column, and I re-arrange them based on priorities I have with my team (highest priority on top) by moving them up and down in the column, I want to know that priority later. Suggest adding information saying whether an automation is running, what automation and progress of the automation including when it is finished. Suggest adding somewhere in the main interface: Add Notification step in Automations that will show a toast window or message telling me when the Automation that was running has finished running. Add a small progress window showing when an automation is running, the name of the running app and perhaps the percentage in queue before it’s finished.

This would require a toggle option to allow or deny this function in the form

I think this has been posted already, but I wanted to recreate the topic and give more details so more users can find themselves actually wanting the same thing.I’m sure many companies (like ours) fell in love with Airtable first they saw the great features it has.When you see how you can greatly simplify project, database, or table management in general, you realise that with Airtable you can save a lot of your owns or your employees’ time.But then… When I started to create some big tables, I found out this app lacks some simple regional options such as:Cannot change the decimal separator (not every country uses a “.” dot)Cannot set a custom date format (not every country in Europe uses MM/DD/YYYY)In Germany we use MM.DD.YYYY and this must be respected. It would be great to have field which can be unique (not auto numbering). That would ensure no new entry with same details is added. For each row first thing that needs to be placed can be unique field itself.

Hi there, It would be great to have a toggle for show/hide field descriptions when creating a (view only) shared view through a link. I often add notes in the field description about what table the field links to, how I’m using the field, an explanation of the formula I wrote, and/or other base ‘administration’ details. When I am sharing a view with a colleague, I want them to be able to view the data in the base (the field name is usually explanatory enough for this purpose), but keep my field descriptions to myself. Adding this feature would be really great and would help make the shared views look more polished and professional. Anyone else running into this concern? Thanks.

I have found that when editing an AirTable database now using the Windows 10 app the swipe ability of the on screen keyboard (that I can use with most other apps) is turned off, so that I have to enter the text of the note by tappng each key individually. Has anybody else found this? I the swipe functionality of the Windows 10 enables much quicker text entry and I would love to be able to use it with the notes of AirTable.Nigel

The only thing that makes me keep using Mailchimp to send emails to my followers is the lack of image embeds in the body of automatic emails in Airtable. I saw markup is now able to do it, would it be possible to update Airtable’s markup to accept in body images ? Thanks a lot :pray:

When I selecting linked records in a field, the search function only allows me to search based on the primary field. However, my primary field names are not informative (AB001, e.g.). What I really need is to search by one of the other fields of the linked record. This should be possible. When there are so many linked records to search, you have to be able to do better searches. Google Tables allows this and so does Ninox, so I know it’s possible. Do we have a formal feature request queue for Airtable to send directly to the developers?

Suggest if Airtable adds a New Record button in the toolbar, I think it would be quite handy there, what do you think?

Should be possible to have a field for a QR-Code generating the information of an entry

The expanded record view uses only a small portion of the screen, even on biz size laptop is only half the screen. For long text boxes (which we use a lot of) this really reduces the editability/readability of fields with a lot of content. Can the restraints on that Expanded data box have an override arrow that fits to screen? I know you can expand long text boxes from within the grid view to a slightly better size, but you are not really in the record card view, and is still not great. Thanks!

Hi again, I’d like to know if i can “NAME” and “SAVE” a filter and use it furthermore by selecting it from a list ? In case it doesn’t exist, i think that it could be helpful as a standard feature for some of us. Regards

Request: a better UI for linking tables, without the need for Linked Fields. Also, allowing users to link records on something other than the Primary Key.Scenario: I am in the midst of building out a Base that will replace a local Sports club’s player management database. The current method being used is an Excel spreadsheet that has a number of Vlookups and other formulas to determine computed player abilities (based on tryouts) so that teams can be equally balanced and assigned. Airtable looks like the perfect fit us, but I struggle with the requirement to create a Linked Field for every single lookup. The end result is I have a number of extra ‘dummy’ fields that don’t hold data and just make the interface messy and hard to follow.Additionally, the way that Linked Fields work, they automatically just join on the Primary Key, with no ability to pick another field to join on or even format the field (ex no ability to join on a concate

When I hide some fields on the computer on some view, the same fields are still visible on my phone app (iPhone last version of app 2016/05/26) from the same view. Basically, all fiels are visible on the app Is it normal?

Just used the “org chart” app for the first time. It works fine, but it would be great to be able to group workers based on a field. Example: my CEO doesn’t only direct 2 managers (who have people under them who are nicely grouped), but also 15 consultants. That makes the width of the chart to big for comfort. It would be nice to be able to group some of them, based on a single select field for example (which we use to map their specialities). Edit: it’s also a shame that the lines aren’t aligned when a field output (in this example the functions) has 2 or more lines

It would be awesome if you could type ‘Now’ or ‘Today’ into a date field as a shortcut for getting the current date/time. It’s a small thing, but there’s always a few seconds pause to double check what the current date is when typing that can interrupt data input flow. (I know you can click the Today button when the date picker pops up, but this would be great for people who get by predominantly on the keyboard)

I would love the option to have a character counter show on a form, I use a form to receive wording / photos for marketing materials. Each material has a different haracter limit that we can accept however there is no way for our customers to see the character amount they are entering.
