It would be very useful if there was a way to check what other fields are dependent on a certain field.For example, if one formula field B includes the field A in its formula, show somewhere in the header of Field A that field B uses it for calculation.Or, if Field C from Table B uses field A from Table A as a rollup.This would make things much easier when trying to figure out whats going on in a large database. Or at least make things easier when trying to do a cleanup and delete some unused fields.

Hi everyone, I’m wondering if there is a way to submit info from an email directly into a record with a specific email address for that record? Another part of my company uses Monday.com and they have this feature which is very beneficial since most of our contacts are not using Airtable and they don’t need to have access to Airtable.

Something where seperate users could vote (on ratings, on checkmarks, etc) would be invaluable for collaboration and user feedback in open databases.What do you guys think?

I use the Long Text field to capture notes in my records. Getting RTF was a huge win, thank you developers!Now I am curious if there is a way to make this field full screen within a given record.I’ve tried the Page Designer block, but that only let’s me view the field, not edit it.Thanks!

While we love the Row Height option in some of our views, we struggle with how images within attachment fields are previewed. Currently, each image within an attachment field fills the full height of the row/record. This is a sub-optimal use of screen real estate. Instead, we suggest a thumbnail scale option within the field settings. This could be a slider, or simply a choice between 1-up, 2-up and 3-up thumbnail grids.Here’s a before-and-after of what we’re thinking:And if implementing such scaling, why not add it to the Gallery View? While full-frame thumbnails LOOK great, a small grid of thumbnails would likely be more useful in a lot of use cases; particularly as screen resolutions increase.

I posted this in a comments thread, but I wanted to re-post it as a product suggestion: For reporting purposes, it would be helpful to be able to break apart one-to-many (or many-to-many) data links . I understand that AirTable doesn’t want to duplicate records, but maybe AirTable could add a block feature or a reporting/export feature which would let you break apart the one-to-many (or many-to-many) relationship and then export that report as a CSV? (The Pivot table kind of accomplishes this, but there’s no way to export the data into a spreadsheet or view it item by item). Bosses and supervisors often want these kinds of reports. Right now, I generate the report by creating a script in integromat which parses out the data and then moves it into a google sheet. But that solution is a fragile and I have to hand adjust the script for each new table. I’d love to have a quick way to generate this report. (Yes-- I know I could achieve this by adding/linking additional tables for each and e

One thing that is currently missing in Airtable is the concept of a Current Row. This would be the current row of each table that is currently in the base. Current Row of a table could be used in filters to filter in only the children of a parent record (e.g. Order Header and Order Items). This would make the creation of applications much easier. There are many other use cases.

If a record has a color, I would like it if links to that record inside other tables were displayed in that color, rather than the usual light blue. Use Case: I have color coded issues in one table according to urgency. These issues are linked from another table, where they are part of a larger overview of topics to work on. In the overview, I would like to be able to see the color coding of my linked records, so I see which topics have issues with high urgency.

We use our base for scheduling events and use the duplicate record option quite often on recurring events from the past, however we have found that duplicating the entire record can be error prone at times by duplicating the information in the hidden columns. Example;We have one view for scheduling (entering events and details)One view for billing (entering billing related data… invoice#, Invoice date, etc.)One view for payroll (entering payroll related data… pay date, etc.) When we are scheduling and duplicate a past event, it also duplicates all the past billing & payroll data that is hidden. Obviously we can just delete the added data, but just trying to keep it simple. It would be preferable if you can have option under the column settings to turn off duplicate data or have a setting in the view to limit duplicate data to columns in the view only. Hope that makes sense 🙂

Ever notice users want to duplicate their data to other tables rather than make a new view? That might not be great for DRY data, but it suggests the UI is prompting the wrong UX decisions. If a redesign is too much to ask, there’s some lower hanging fruit in another product suggestion for cluttered view management.

I just used CSV Block to import for the first time. My table was initially created with the base CVS import. The CSV schema I’m importing does not have any unique column. However, a set of three columns is unique. I made my primary field, id, a formula for those columns with the formula: {a} & " " & {b} & " " & {c} (None of a, b, or c has internal spaces.) When using the CSV Block import, I am importing a more recent download of the same CSV report so it has duplicate rows and it’s a superset of the original import, having new rows. I see the “merge rows” option but that asks me to merge by a single CSV field. What I need is to merge by the formula field I defined, so that deduplication happens with the set of a, b, c fields. Has this been discussed / considered? How feasible is it? Since formula are required for uniqueness with these kinds of datasets, it seems like a required constraint that deduplication can work off of formula.

My plans for Airtable seem to have hit a wall. Can’t see to find a way to customize viewing and editing single records. I need to be able to choose a form to display when I open a single record. specify how and where fields appear hide (or enable) the log column at the right control visible and editable states with permissions change how linked records display (a mini form) change fonts configure “share to” action Is this that something that may be in the works? This would go a long way in letting many of us move completely away from Trello, Asana, Etc. into Airtable. I know there are workarounds (link to another table’s list containing the tasks), but that quickly becomes overly cumbersome. Would love to have simple checklist as a field option!

I’m considering Airtable for information gathering as I browse the Web. One tool I currently use is Trello along with the “Add to Trello” extension for chrome and safari which nicely adds the URL and title for the page I’m viewing and creates a new card/record in a specific Trello board and list both of which can be specified within the extension. Simple and powerful. I could only convert to airtable if I had something similar.

I would like to have the ability to set a default font for the Page Designer block in our Airtable settings or in the table settings somewhere so we don’t have to change it from Roboto every time 🙂

TL;DR; Summarize activity feed between regular events (updates, etc…) and more important commentsI need to scroll up a lot to find the comments I’m interested in:IMO minor activity events, such as field updates, should be collapsing and expanded-on-click/summarized in order to have a better visualisation and user experience.

I have a resource list that includes a lot of urls. Instead of showing the long awkward urls, is there a way to still have the url for each record but perhaps a single word like Go that displays?

I am considering moving from the iOS application MyStuff to Airtable. My only struggle is with importing images linked to the records. When exporting from MyStuff, the result is a CSV file and then folders with related images. Does Airtable have the ability to import images based on file location references in a file in the CSV? Do the images need to be in the same directory as the CSV? Thanks for any insight. Regards, Rob

I have the Maps block enabled in my table, but need to be able to search the map with an address and have it show the “nearest” locations from my database on the map. Is this possible? PLEASE say it is! ! Basically, it’s what I do in Google Maps, but can’t seem to figure out how to get a search box onto my Maps Block map!

I’m using the Map Block for a research project and it works great, but I think it could benefit from two hopefully simple-to-implement features:1. A collapsible record list showing the records that appear on the map.This could of course function exactly like the Record List Block, and may look similar to Calendar views (the calendar or in this case map appear on the left side of the screen, and a record list on the right). Right now I’m using both blocks in tandem, but they don’t technically relate to one another so I have to collapse/minimize the map block to see a full list of records. Seeing the map and the list of records side by side would be very useful. I could then expand a particular record easily without having to find its location on the map, selecting the correct marker, and then clicking expand record.2. hi i run a small R&D machine shop that supports the development of medical devices. i support about 20 engineers and 5 testing labs and sometimes some request for the production lines. im looking for a templates to manage the shop; machines, people, work any suggestions on getting started?

I noticed recently when I set a color to be based on activity that comments do not count as activity on an entry, only editing the fields count as activity. Is there a way to make comments count as activity in formulas or other areas? Seems like commenting on something still shows some activity on the item vs having to change the content of the entry itself.
