Hi! So have a question. We have a system where we are always putting money into Credit card numbers that are attached to certain bank account numbers. The way we have it set up is Accounts Credit Cards Flagged Accounts (Replacements for Cards) We label it as T-Cardnumber-Accountnumber; we have two cards for each account number. So T-1234-0000 & T-5678-0000 They both need 900 dollars in them at all times (so if they were both active it would be 1800) So if T-1234-000 needs to be replaced, we empty its “portion” out of the bank account (-900) What we do is we search via blocks to see if T-5678-000 is active (so it tells us if we need to leave 900 dollars in there to compensate for that one …say it got charged and there was only 1200 dollars in the account, so we would only take out 300) Confusing. Anyways, we wanted to use the “Blocks” search to find how many ACTIVE cards are linked to it. Thing is, we get replacements for the cards, and so on the “Cards” doc we will have like 5 or

I would like to make a sheet for collaborators to be linked to multiple other sheets in the base. That way, collaborators can see anything they’re tagged in from one sheet.

This just came up recently, and I couldn’t find a similar request outstanding. Lately I’ve been working on a query generator for a client with some relatively complex database and reporting requirements. Frankly, as the base currently stands, it’s impossible to create a query using filters that meets his needs, as the values to match and the records to report are too distant in the model. To get around that, I’ve created a table he can use to build queries. Each record represents a single atomic query (e.g., ‘which customers bought a white widget in 2016 or 2017?’ or ‘who bought a widget at WidgetWorld in 2017?’). Up to five queries can be defined, and the individual queries can be ANDed or ORed together to create more complex inquiries. Admittedly, it’s a work-in-progress, but so far it seems to be holding up. I’m about to add more potential variables to the equations — say, salesperson (‘Who bought a widget from John last year?’) or color (‘How many people bought camo widgets in 2012

This is a #feature-requests specific to #ios - @Airtable_Team I’d like to see iCloud, ie, the native iOS Files app, as an option in the File Picker menu for Attachment fields. The use-case is obvious, as every other major cloud storage platform has representation in the File Picker - we iCloud users are alienated and forced to find another means of getting our files into the mobile app. Thank you for considering!

I like the fact that I can create links between records in the same table, however, it is not super useful beyond creating parent-child relationships for the org chart block. It would be much better if it was possible to apply a lookup to one of these linked fields so that those relationships could be more useful. I understand that there’s a risk of creating circular logic, but that could be addressed by preventing the lookup of the fields that would cause that to happen. A real world example of this is trying to create a website site map and using these lookup fields to determine what the permalinks would be for any page. There would be a field for the url slug, and then a formula that would create the permalinks based on the parent-child relationships. Right now, the only way in which this is possible is by having multiple tables, which basically violates the relational database rule that each table should contain the same type of object.

Hi Airtable community ! An image speaks a thousand times more than words. Here is what I would like to do to integrate a table with each project of my wordpress site. I think we could do this by reversing the presentation of a filtered export from column to line.

I’m trying to manage my Roleplaying campaign in Airtable but would like to link specific records inside some of my long text formatted fields for instance “Dargon the warrior is traveling to Flurgan the village.” can “Dargon” and “Flurgan” be links to records?

I’m currently maintaining dual contacts and calendar events, one set in Google, the other in Airtable. This isn’t ideal; if I make changes in the Google dataset I have to duplicate by hand in Airtable and vice versa. It would be far more useful, much less error prone to have Airtable sync with Google. Please, thank you.

Currently Kanban view is not enabled for mobile or tablet apps. At the very least, kanban should be enabled for tablets - the screens are big enough to handle the kanban view.

Would be neat to have some options for how to display names in collaborator fields. i.e. First name only First name, last initial First initial, last name First initial, last initial etc

To eliminate the need to set > delete > set again a filter or filters, a bypass option next to each filter.

Recently noted on Airtable’s What’s New page is an enhancement to the Page Designer Block allowing the user to change the order in which elements are stacked on the page. Given my use of Page Designer often involves layering elements to fake conditional formatting, this is a much appreciated improvement. Thanks, everyone! Source Source

Would love to see the Airtable Mac OS app dynamically resize in split-screen mode. Currently fields don’t wrap to the window size.

I have a user case where I need to be able to have the form reveal, display or highlight specific fields based upon the individual’s first selection. All entries will update the same base table. Problem statement example: Are you Tom or Susan? If Tom: Show fields 1,2,7,8,10 for content input. If Susan: Show fields 3,4,5,6,9 for content input.

I am requesting that Airtable add a user-specific, customizable dashboard by user. To my understanding, if you add a block, every user can see that same block. Different departments need to see different information. I haven’t been able to find how to do this. If there is already a way, please point me in the right direction. Do you have a webinar training for this? Thanks!

All examples are mine and real. My example 1 (access to tables): I need that to my employees. They need to open the table with the tasks in the kanban for task status change (new / work / done), but they should not be able to watch and change anything else. My example 2 (access to fields): There are employees table. One of the fields - the salary. I need people to have access to the rest of the column, but could not see salary. My example 3 (access to records): The design studio has several people on several projects. It is necessary that the people would see only their team projects, suppliers. They should not be visible to others. My example 4 (access to records): There is a network of orphanages. Each orphanage has teachers who should only see their children and not have access to other children of orphanages. Each director of an orphanage should have access to their teachers and do not have access to others. Sorry for my English

Requests for more granular access permissions have been beaten to death, but I recently shared this detailed use case/request with a member of Airtable support, so I’d like to post it here, as well – both for reference and to learn whether or not the community has discovered workarounds. In other words I have a large table and have data in a column that is not linked to another table but I want to still lookup the data and return a value from another table. A lot like a true excel vlookup.

We have two tabs in all of our bases that use the same information and we have these columns set as a “SINGLE SELECT” with a whole list of options. The only way I see to make the columns identical in the two tabs is to manually type out the info and manually select the colors to match. Then, if we update a new option, we have to add it to both. I would like a way to “Duplicate Field” (column) into another tab so that it will duplicate all dropdown info (but not the data within). It almost looks like you can, I duplicated the column, and then tried to drag the duplicated column into the new tab but it doesn’t allow me to. Seems like a simple function to add.

this is excellent and usefull but i consider unfair for pricing a person who is just a commenter, to have the same billing with an editor. I am not saying put commenter for free, but since it is a permission level between an editor and a read-only it would be fair to have half price in the billing. I would like to add in our bases 2-3 people as commenters but the annual budget get much higher without actually needed. I’ve created a database of all our community resources for our call center program. Currently have about 3,000 community resources. My issues is regarding the “Services Provided” column I have set up. For each community resource we have in our database, we also identify the types of services they provide. Each service is divided into multiple categories and sub-categories. For example: BASIC NEEDS Financial Assistance Rent Utlities Each resource con contain multiple services (i.e. education, basic needs, etc.), and within each general service category they can contain multiple sub-categories of services. Now I only have 8 general categories for services provided, but there a lot more sub-categories within each one. How would I be able to display this on our database? From what I understand this would be a many-to-many type of relationship. Would this require me to create a separate table for each category, then link it to my main community resources database?
