Since the Airtable interface is rather “white” I notice it tires my eyes. It made me wonder if it would be possible to implement a settings or preferences feature, where you can switch to a “night modus”. Black background with white text.

The default sort order of mixed numbers & text is usually numbers, then text. Airtable seems to do symbols, alpha, then numbers. For example, normally in in Excel stored as text: 1 18 1a Airtable sorts as 1 1a 18 While not necessarily a bug (which is why I put it here instead of the other forum), it is not what is typical for other applications so it is inconvenient.

I want to be able to navigate quickly to a record in a linked table by double clicking (or have a menu option when right clicking) on the link.

Wufoo has a great option when making forms to have a checklist and rules to ask or remove further questions based on what checkboxes you selected previously (Field Rules.) I’ve been using the product for about 4 minutes and the first thing I want to do with project tracking is view by client. Am I missing something? If I am not missing a simple way to do this. I will make a category for every client, which seems redundant. I would think this wouldn’t be a custom filter since it is so rudimentary. Thank you for looking into this.

It would be awesome to be able to restrict a search to a single column. I can think of two good ways to do this: (1) add an option on the column drop down and (2) add search command like in:column-name. Also, it would be equally awesome to be able to open an interactive CLI to do ad hoc SQL queries.

I have records for music tracks of an album, each with a own playtime field as text in the format “m:s”. I know how to use a formula to convert this values to seconds and the “sum” shows also the correct values of all records in seconds but how can I display this sum value as a formatted text like “h:m:s” to have the complete runtime of all tracks in this collection? Unfortunately the “sum” function doesn’t have a formatting option, so I need something different, but I have completely no idea how to do this.

will be amazing to have some kind of “client account” where we invite a client to view the content on a base and send some comments the problem here is the charge, we can’t send regular accounts for every client because we end with a huuuuuuge bill, we need a free account for the clients to let some comments on the work or something

I’m building a time tracking and project reporting base, and I often find myself needing to use conditional rollups to create meaningful reports. This means I need to create a ton of IF formula fields on one table to rollup on another table. It would save substantial amount of time if Airtable had a bulk formula field creation feature. This could be an option in the field dropdown menu: Selecting this option would allow users to upload a .csv file containing each forumla: IF({Person} = "Anne", {Hours}, 0); IF({Person} = "Clyde", {Hours}, 0); IF({Person} = "Daisy", {Hours}, 0); IF({Person} = "Elle", {Hours}, 0); IF({Person} = "Gordon", {Hours}, 0); IF({Person} = "Hilda", {Hours}, 0); IF({Person} = "Ken", {Hours}, 0); IF({Person} = "Julia", {Hours}, 0); ... And a formula field would be created for each value. This would save countless hours and make Airtable even easier to use.

It would be really useful to be able to lock down the base filters of a view so that other users (for example Edit users) cannot change them. This causes endless confusion with clients when one user changes the filters. What would be useful, though would be if these users were able to add filter options on top of the basic filters - but that this is NOT saved to the view itself.

Occasionally in our video production database, we find the same project is represented by two different records – often both with partial information filled out in separate fields. It would be immensely helpful to have an option to merge two similar records into one, without having to manually copy and paste all relevant info.

Can you link directly to a view within a mobile app? I would like to save a bookmark on my tablet home screen which automatically directs me to a specific view in the AirTable Android App. Is this possible? If so what is the structure of this URL? I have a base where I have all my patients. now I have a nested IF formula where I tagged them according to age group. in the chart the age groups are arranged “alphabetically” for example, 1-4 years old, next to 10-14 years old, and I cant change that. and 65+ years old starts the chart, and its unmovable… a real chart would let you re-arrange your data according to your needs. for example I want to arrange them from younger to older.

When using “Color/Select field” on a custom view, you can only choose single-select fields. Adding lookup fields leading to single-select fields would be nice. My use case: I have a list of people assigned to groups. The group table has a single-select field named “Color” where each option has its own color. I want a view showing people colored according to the group they belong to. In a more simple case, I would use a single-select field named “Group”, where each value would have its own color. But here, as I need to store informations about groups, I need them to have their own table.

I have a few tables that are used as what is effectively glorified enums: read only and used primary as multi-selects in other tables. When I link to this table (let’s call it colors) from another table, it creates a two way relationship. I can see how this is useful, but it would be great if it were an option. ideally, it would mimic the SQL foreign key (that is, one direction) behavior more closely.

Currently because the kanban columns are very thin, AND the title for the cards are shown in a large font (relative to the width of the columns), most of my card titles are being truncated, even after considerable effort to make them shorter. I’m new to AirTable and it looks very nice, it has potential to replace Asana for our team, but this one thing is rendering the Kanban view essentially useless for me. Any ideas?

I would like to see the “Uncategorized” stack in the Kanban view function in the same manner as the Grid view, where the lefthand column is frozen. When working with a lot of stacks (30+), it can be difficult to drag a record from the default Uncategorized stack to a stack at the end of the page. Scrolling through that many stacks is tedious, unless one goes through and collapses each individual stack. Having the initial stack frozen would be a great way to making the Kanban view more efficient.

As a workspace owner, I would like to restrict access to specific tabs based on user role so that I can protect sensitive information without having to create a separate base. This is going to be needed for many serious business use cases.

Whenever I want to look at a certain selection of records I prefer filtering. The problem is that in multi-user environments this also changes the view for all other people who are working on it. As a workaround one can create individual views of course, but I feel that’s a bit of an overkill. And then there’s always the risk that you don’t notice you’re actually working in the wrong view. Search works pretty good, although it’s limited, but I can see me using it more if there would be a collapse option. This way only the rows that match the criterium would show, without messing with the view for other collaborators. An option to have local / session filters would rock though. This would enable fooling around until you’d click ‘set as default / store’. Or something like that… :slightly_smiling_face: Actually, confirmation for filter changes would be a good idea to begin with IMO. A lot can depend on them (workflow, API calls, etc). :thinking:

I know this is a spreadsheety thing, and falls apart once relational, but when actively editing in a table view, it’d be REALLY helpful to highlight cells that are missing info, or for which the data has not yet been fully confirmed. Question marks don’t work in number fields, so that;s not an option… Basically we need a way to identify data that’s near-final. Thanx!
