Is there any way to use link fields for kanban stacks. It appears that only single select fields can be used, but I would like to use a grouping field that is a lookup to another table. As a simple example, I have a location field, which is a lookup field to another table, defining locations. I would like to use that as the grouping field in a kanban view. It looks as though the only option I have currently is to duplicate the field with a single select field, and then find a way to keep both in sync?

Many thanks for any help

Neil

Yes please and for all the reasons already stated.

Same requirement here! As an long time Airtable fan and paying user, Kanban can only be used for single select field is so inconvienent! Badly need this feature! It’s been 4 years! Plz @VictoriaPlummer

This would be great!

Would like also to have this kind of functionality.

I have to show a kanban view of product backlog features group by product.

very usefull for portfolio management.

Today only workaround I see is to copy as many views as number of product and to embed those views in a specific intranet page.

This features would lead many of my product owners to use airtable to show their product plans

Would be incredibly helpful for me too! I use Airtable to analyze qualitative data. This functionality would enable me to use a Kanban view for affinity mapping, and then have the emergent themes live in a linked table where I could add notes, opportunities, and other context. I could see other UX Researchers benefitting from this structure as well.

PLEASE develop the ability to stack a Kanban view on linked fields as these are crucial to structuring a database. [Without these relationship grouping options the Kanban functionality is severely impeded!].

Adding my +1. This would be super helpful!

+1. Would love this feature.

Adding my +1. This is a no brainer.

One more vote for this as well!

Do they even read these suggestions? It’s been 4 years!

+1 For this feature. This is a huge roadblock! Also troubling that this hasn’t been addressed, given the obvious interest and need. Not sure how I can justify my workplace paying for this tool if I constantly have to find work arounds AND Airtable is not responsive to customer needs.

+1 This feature would be great to have and seems like it could be accomplished by limiting to single-select linked records.

+1 for this feature! basic stuff!

+1 here too. Missing such basic features while people are asking for it for 4 years doesn’t shed a good light on the product team. There are a lot of other basic product suggestions that would make the usability of the product MUCH better/easier but don’t seem to be of any value to Airtable.

I have been a great fan but I’m actively working on migrating my projects away from Airtable because of the very bad community <> support <> product communication that is happening and the decision to go for “business value” features before making the basic stuff work nicely.

Yes agreed + 1 for this feature. And agreed about Airtable not reading or not paying attention to the little things. Or reading these boards.

+1 for this feature! basic stuff!

I come across this need all the time - add my vote to the list please 🙂

+1 Need to be able to use kanban by linked fields

Nov 2016…It’s now July 2021! +1 for this feature. Would love to see a response on this thread for when it will be in the pipeline or why it’s been consistently deprioritized.

Another vote in favor of an essential feature change

+1 for this feature!

Another vote for this feature. Much needed.

My theory- linked record groups in Kanban would allow people used them as a replacement for Collaborators, and then Airtable would lose money

Being able to utilize the linked fields here is feeling like a really big limitation to expand my data. Not sure if votes count… but for what its worth +1 from me…
