Linking to another record in the same table is not symmetric

If I create a link in table A, row N pointing to a record in table B, row M, using the “Link to another record” field type, the mirror image of the link is generated in table B, row M, pointing back to the corresponding record in table A, row N.

The “Link to another record” field type can be used within one table. But when I create a link from table A, row N to table A, row M, the mirror image of the link pointing from table A, row M to table A, row N doesn’t get created.

I have to create the mirror image of the link manually, which is a hassle.

This is a bug, could you fix it?

I’m having the same issue still

And another two years later, I have just started Airtable and have come across the same issue. Please advise how to fix!
