What is the proposed idea/solution?

...There need to be more date filtering options like this month, next month, this week and next week. The only options right now are based on today but I don't want to see 1 month from today (i.e. today - Nov 16), I want to see only records between Nov 1 and Nov 30.

Ideally I want to see what tasks are due within next month and within next week so I can plan ahead in the current week/month. But that is not an option currently.

How does is solve the user problems?
