Hi everyone, the title basically sais it all :grinning_face_with_big_eyes:
Second this, European markets (of which some have massive potential) get ignored / neglected way too often by many US based SaaS platforms

I also have the date issue when copying Australian dates into Airtable, even when the Date column is formatted to the correct region, Airtable still flips the day and month around breaking things.
I basically have to use Excel as a middle man to pre-process my copy/paste data.
+1
French is missing for my users.
Totally agree
@Katherine_Duh Hi! I’m new here, so hope this post is not misplaced. Currencies are a problem as far I could test them (we Europeans write a thousand twenty euros and 30 cents 1.020,30€ or 1020,30€). Isn’t it possible to use the system settings for dates and currencies?
are there any news on this item? I’m perplexed that Airtable is still so US centric that international date and number formats aren’t available to us.
Me too. Especially because it should be easy to handle with modern programming languages/platforms which support different locale out of the box.
Missing support for international formats has driven me to move away from Airtable. I’m unable to recommend it to my customers in Germany.
Let me just add that I - too - am wondering about Decimal numbers, as I need to be able to write them the way we write them in my country and language… I would be thrilled to know any update on this particular issue.
I need Japanese. Language support is essential for my company users.
Localisation is needed: dates, times, currencies, numbers. It’s all defined in the system and should be available to Airbase, shouldn’t it? It can be worked around, but still useful.
French please at least for forms terms
Yes, comma for decimals is very needed. Thanks
I would be very pleased to help you with Portuguese (Brazilian) translation.
And you could think of using https://www.getlocalization.com/ site, for instance.
Thanks
Would be nice to use amazing Airtable in Ukrainian.
The currency format is completely wrong for some international users… The “point” is used as a delimiter for thousand and the “comma” for the tenth (eg. cent).
1,2333.20€ means the completely wrong thing in Europe… it should be formatted as 1.233,20€…
It’s very important to change this and add an option “use decimal comma” or “use decimal point” for the currency formatting

You nailed it Frank, that’s how we need it over here in Europe.
These are all great, specific suggestions, and we love hearing them—the more we know about how you all would like to use time/date/currency fields, the more we can implement future changes to these fields in a thoughtful, considered way.
In the meantime, we do have the DATETIME_FORMAT and SET_TIMEZONE functions, both of which you can use to reformat dates. It’s not ideal, but it might be useful as a stopgap measure for some of you.
In Sweden we use the “SEK” or “:-”, and it is always posted AFTER the value.
Ideally I would like to have a “prefix/suffix”-toggle on the currency symbol

I was seeking on this forum this issue.
Hope the developers will add this function asap.
Hi There !
Is there any news regarding the european format of numbers (using “,” instead of “.” for decimals). It is really critical in Europe !
Bumping the topic as it seems it gets forgotten and overlooked…
Hey guys, I really need to have my currency changed.
I need it to accept comma to decimals.
R$ 1.000,00
Any chance?
Anyone find an answer/response to this date format issue?
Is this really so hard to implement? Why hasn’t the development team done anything in all these years? It’s a tiny change but makes a ton of a difference in Europe. Why force this not very practical American system on everyone???
I’d gladly help translate the menus to Farsi. Open sourcing user-created language packs for the UI would be earth-shattering. We haven’t yet jumped-in fully due to the language barrier. I’m sure this is the case for many organizations using Airtable.
Wow, almost 3 years! I guess there’s no interest in implementing this… sad.
I have the same but slightly different need as I live in a bi-lingual country so we have a membership form, I can create 2 forms, one in English, the other in Welsh and can set the questions into Welsh but where there are options, such as ‘Add an option’ or where there are questions, even just ‘Yes’ or ‘No’, I need a way to have those show up in welsh but still add the results to the membership table along with the people who respond in English. Some of them are much longer multi option lists. I know this is a tricky one, even if other languages were offered. I know there are workarounds like having the options show up as ‘English word/ Welsh word’ but when there’s a long list to choose from, eg what that person’s art form is, that would be very clunky indeed. So, any ideas welcome but definitely +1 to the localisation.
