Hey Airtable,

Was trying to use the timeline block for scheduling shooting days and despite being very promising for doing so, it was quite cumbersome to use for the following reasons.

  • There is no button to fit the entire timeline in the view. Sometimes you lose your data, you scroll or zoom out … this is frustrating. A simple “fit content to view” button would be great !
  • In the same vein, a navigation thumbnail with a window highlighting the current viewed area would help too (above or below the window).
  • Moreover, if we could have a customizable background grid to choose displaying the relevant units of time only: weeks, days, hours, minutes, …

Really want to second this… The folks at Airtable have this mental block about using their product for anything that needs schedules to be any more granular than by week. They clearly think every plans things the way software companies do with Days as the smallest unit of measure! We need to at the very least be able to have Timeline view by Day (same with Gantt view). To a live production person, a week view is literally useless but a day view with hours even minutes would be a game changer
