• 1 This would help me convince my clients to use Airtable. It would be great if we could playback from an embedded Vimeo file, if uploading directly to Airtable is too unwieldy.

The web-based project manager we just moved from (which shall remain nameless) allowed .mp4 files to play and provided a thumbnail preview. This was really helpful in being able to recall video associated with certain projects, when assigning them to freelancers.

We use Airtable for UX research purposes. It involves lots of screenshots and screen recordings. Not being able to play a recording directly from Airtable is really painful because it significantly slows down presentation and discussion on UX research findings listed in Airtable.

Using airtable for digital asset management for our paid marketing marketing programs. Love being able to preview all the static assets but we’re increasingly using video more than anything else. This is a real pain point.

We use Airtable for software bug tracking and most of our bugs have videos. It’s a pain to have download video attachments each time we want to play them. It slows the whole bug triage process down by a significant amount compared to if we could play video attachments in the browser. We nearly left Airtable when we figured out we’d have to download our video attachments. The new “embed” block does not solve this. We otherwise LOVE Airtable. Please prioritize this feature!

Ditto to everything - I was surprised this isn’t already there. Mp4 vids show up as ‘documents’ which just looks confusing. Please add this.

My Social media calendars in the gallery view and being able to watch video attachments where an image would normally be - that would be better than sex.

I agree on everything being said here about video. I just started using Airtable for my digital archiving project at work and so far everyone loves it and it’s proven to be really useful for what we need but video playback would be everryyythiiiiing. It’s proving to be really inconvenient that Airtable doesn’t yet support video playback and that would definitely improve our shared use.

Same. My entire business revolves around video, and this feature would be incredibly useful.

Is this something that is being worked on by Airtable - it would be a huge selling point for getting all of my team members onboard with this program.

We’ve built an extension that allows you to play video attachments in the browser.

The URL Preview App can help with this.

But unfortunately, couple issues:

1). For Vimeo, I don’t know what URL to allow Vimeo to embed on.



Have tried allowing airtable.com to no avail. Can someone @Airtable please advise?!

2). For YouTube field, our URL links are 301 redirecting short links, e.g. Cerulean | "island" "Music Video] - YouTube. The app doesn’t detect this as a YouTube app (understandably), but could be enhanced to consider 301 redirects.

Could it be a 3rd party service like Embed.ly (in which case I know you must approve cdn.embedly.com) ?
