- Claude can help you build custom API integrations from start to finish. Give Claude access to your Airtable base and the API documentation for another platform, and it can interpret the docs, create the necessary fields, build automations, and write the scripts needed to connect the two systems.
- You can build a lot just by explaining what you want to happen. I demonstrated this using DISCO, a music industry platform. Starting with an essentially empty Airtable base, I used Claude to build a workflow that pushed tracks from Airtable into DISCO, returned IDs and URLs back to Airtable, and eventually created playlists with multiple tracks.
- Claude can also help you troubleshoot as you build. When an API request failed during the demo, I copied the error message into Claude. It identified the issue and explained what needed to change. You don't necessarily need to understand the error yourself to figure out your next step.
We also covered how to securely store API credentials using Airtable secrets, how Claude can work with Airtable's standard automation actions in addition to custom scripts, and how to restrict AI access to sensitive data.
