Am looking for a good explanation the use of Simple Heat Map extension.

So far I have found only this, Simple Heat Map - Apps - Airtable Marketplace, and either more to it or something amiss my extension install, or I have simply failed to grasp what seems a straightforward tool and its use. Regardless cannot make it work for my base content -and it rather simple: a few categories and some values. Any help appreciated. Thanks—
