Add a record to a different table based on a cell's value

We are using AirTable for project management and want to create tasks on a different table when a value on the current table changes. For example, if a user indicates that a certain step has been completed in our main workflow table, we want to create a task on a separate table assigned to a specific person and including values from the main workflow table (such as a customer name and customer ID). Is this possible? If so, how would we do this? Thanks!
