Airtable not loading in Chrome

Hey Everyone,

I spent 45 minutes on Zoom yesterday with 2 Airtable engineers. We tested a number of things re: the performance and loading of Airtable on Chrome.  One hypothesis we landed on is that chunking is causing the initial rendering of javascript to crash and just leaves the loading browser blank white (“Chunking” in website loading breaks down large data (HTML, JavaScript) into smaller segments for faster initial rendering and on-demand loading, improving user experience and caching).  The engineers set my instance from chunking to unchunking and it has worked so far - no loading issues.  Unchunking loads webpages slightly slower but I can’t really notice the difference.  They haven’t pushed this fix to all users but are using the data point to investigate a patch.  Stay tuned - the team is actively working on this and should be fixed soon.

Hi all! Thanks for raising this issue and apologies for all the trouble people have had accessing Airtable.

Though we're still working to fully understand the root causes, we’ve seen that disabling some optimizations for Airtable loading times can fix the issue. To opt-in to this, click this link. You may notice that Airtable takes a few more seconds to load than usual, but it should load eventually. If you still experience loading issues even after opting in to this mitigation, please let us know.

We are still working to fully understand the issue and turn the relevant optimizations back on, so we may reach out to users who opt-in to this setting to check if/when we're able to turn our optimizations back on.

@benmuschol Clicking the link above to disable loading time optimizations doesn’t work. I get an Invalid code message.

@benmuschol - Cleared my airtable.com cookies and tried the new link; the page still won’t load.

@LauraW Any chance it works after waiting a few minutes and trying again? It can take a few minutes for the feature opt-in link to take effect

Also, are you by any chance trying to view a shared public view (anything with “/shr...” in the URL somewhere)

@benmuschol  - Was able to get into our main base in Chrome this morning. Have not been viewing any shared public views. Opening a form view we have been using in Chrome is still hit or miss. Thanks

Got it, thanks for the info ​@LauraW -- I’ll take a look at form views today as I suspect they may need another patch. We’re also rolling out some additional monitoring to hopefully get a full picture of where things are going wrong. Thanks for your reports and your patience!

Doesn’t work direct links on interface pages: just white screen and infinity loading and frizzed chrome tab.

Unfortunately, solution by ​@benmuschol doesn’t work :/

Also worth noting that it can take 5-10 minutes for the new setting to apply to your account, so if you tried immediately after it may not work

I clicked on the link and waited for about 10 minutes without the page loading.  I closed the page, clicked on the link again and my database instantly opened up!  I was then able to open a second database tab with no problem.  thanks!

hey all! been having the same issue, figured i’d comment here to bump it. also on Chrome, and i also deleting browser history to no avail + the link, also to no avail. works in incognito mode and in other browsers for me as well.

 

looking forward to getting this fixed!

Sorry, to clarify I meant which airtable page are you trying to access _after_ clicking that link. Just airtable.com home page or a specific base/view?

a few different specific bases/views! it happens somewhat randomly on a few views i visit, so it’s hard to track down. i can send you, through email, a specific view if that’s helpful?

I was having the same problem and I updated my Chrome browser and AT seems to be working fine again. Took 3 seconds. Thanks for that suggestion!

I tried using ​@benmuschol link and I’m still not able to load Airtable on chrome. This started last week Thursday 2/5/26.

Hello - I also tried using the link Ben provided, and my issues for loading my airtables are still unresolved.

 

I use three different client bases. One loads perfectly in Chrome. The other two do not.

 

Please let me know if this is still in the process of troubleshooting.
