Are you able to link records to a new base and make them editable? I want to create a base where an external team can collaborate on a project that I track on my internal base. Any suggestions?

Best you could do would be to do a sync from Internal to External, create fields in the synced table in External so that the external team can make changes, then create a sync back into Internal
From there, you could then use automations to update the original table
