Why do I get this error message when trying to link Fields both to other tables and within the same table?
Are you sure you want to convert to this field type?
Converting to this field type may clear some cell data from every record in the table.
If the conversion causes a problem, you can press CTRL Z to undo.

+29This is not so much an error message as a warning. You are changing an existing field and you might loose some data when you change the field type. Airtable will try to convert the existing data to match the new field type, but it doesn’t know yet if it will be successful.
If you want to create a link without changing an existing field, you can create a new field as a linked records field, and you won’t get the warning.
