I'm running a handful of automations with Zapier and am now getting a 429 error for too many requests.

I've turn off EVERY automation related to AirTable. Nothing has run for 4 days. But I'm still getting 429 errors, despite AirTable docs saying to wait 30 seconds. Any way to reset this? Or anywhere in AirTable to see a log of API requests so I can figure out what might still be hitting as an API request?

Here are 2 possible reasons for receiving an error 429 from Airtable:

  1. Too many API calls in too short of time. Airtable allows a maximum of 5 requests per base per second.

I don’t recommend Zapier for these reasons, but maybe Zapier has a sleep/pause tool.

Otherwise, I would highly recommend using Make, and they allow you to add delays to your API calls by using their sleep tool.

  2. You’ve gone over your API call limits for the month for that base.

Business and Enterprise plans have unlimited API calls, but Free and Team plans have limits. You can see Airtable’s limits near the bottom of Airtable’s pricing page.

And then, if you go into your “Workspace Settings” page, you can see how many API calls you’ve already used this month for each base. (Note that you need to be the owner of the workspace in order to get into “Workspace Settings”.)

Hope this helps!

I’m doing the same @ScottWorld :D.

Completely off topic here, but would be nice if some of us could become “moderators” to the community. We spend a lot of time here, and reading and filtering through spam is not very nice.

@Mike_AutomaticN I totally agree with you! I was thinking about asking @MaddieJ about you and me becoming moderators, so we can control the spam!
