How to : set fields as read only for Collaborator with Editor permissions

This looks good… So, this would mean that either I set permissions for individual collaborators or I set permissions for the role of eg. Editor.
So if I have 10 collaborators with Editor privilege, 5 of them should be able to edit only field “A”, other 5 only field “B”. Looks like the only way to do this is by setting individual collaborators (by selecting their names) on the field permissions.

Or else I give all 10 access to A & B fields both by selecting Editor in permissions.

Am I on the right track?
