Is there a limit on how many read only portal guests I can have for free?

We have ~2000 applicants per applications cycle. I’d like to add them all as read only portal guests filtered to only see their own record that has their login email associated with it.

Is there any limit on how many applicants I can do this for?

2,000 is fine. I think the limit is 10,000.

There isn’t any limit mentioned anywhere for read only users. Not sure if there is any technical limit internally.

Airtable has told me that the portal user limit is 10,000 users.

@ScottWorld Are the read only portal users free or they are charged as per the portal add on pricing?

Read-only portal users are free, but Airtable won’t let anybody signup for the portal feature unless they pay for a minimum of 15 paid portal users. So even if 100% of your portal users are free users, you still have to pay for 15 users.

Personally, after working with Airtable’s portals for a while now, I can’t really recommend them too highly. Too expensive, and way too limited in features & functionality when compared to fantastic portals like Softr or JetAdmin.

JetAdmin appears to be a stalled product. No updates since 2023. Take your chances.

Not true. JetAdmin is in extremely active development; and has always been in active development. They have made thousands of updates since 2023, and they’ve made hundreds of updates in just the first half of this year alone (2026). You can keep up-to-date on their changes here:

I guess you’re right.

But they do have two change logs:

This one ends in Feb 2024.

So bizarre. I’m not a customer of theirs, but I’ll email them to let them know that they have 2 conflicting changelogs.
