Is there a keyboard shortcut to expand a linked record? Or has anyone found a different way of solving this? When interacting with mouse, clicking to expand the linked record is dangerously close to the X to remove the linked record…

Good question. I haven’t found one to open a linked record (that’d be a good post for “product suggestions.”
But Shift + Space, opens an expanded view of any field you’re highlighting. Once expanded, the linked record field is large enough that mice can safely click it without bumping the X. Here’s a list of the documented keyboard shortcuts.
